Then why are you looking at me like im PvE antichrist? If you want bombers to have better modes, then make suggestion for them. Not shoehorn them into PvP where not only it makes no sense for bombers to be competing with fighters but coming out on top against a whole team?
They bothered to add a dedicated pve heli mode (albeit with bad rewards), so clearly dedicated pve mode for an entire subsect of aircraft isn’t exactly new, right?
No, because bombers didn’t and still don’t serve any purpose in the game and contribute absolutely nothing to the gameplay value. Also, the previous model is more realistic than the current one/
I don’t understand how flying in a straight line for 10 minutes just to press the spacebar a few times is anything close to “playable” regardless of how many bullets you soak up
Well guess what? ARB in its current iteration is PvP. Not only did bomber yappers did nothing to ask for a better mode, from this thread alone its clear you all just want to shoehorn it into the current strictly PvP environment.
Like even the nuke thunder mode, as bad as it devolved to its current state, came to be because people genuinely wanted a mode that attack aircraft had more role in the game than they could be in ARB. Considering that was implemented but a new bomber mode wasn’t, it is only more clear to me that bombers don’t inherently want to change anything other than being able to kill other players in an OP aircraft.
And wanna guess why it devolved into PvP? Because more players wanted it so. There’s a reason base bombing as a victory condition no longer exists at jet tiers - a majority wanted the mode to strictly be pvp.
Have you ever played a video game before? this is what most games are like nowadays. you shoot someone. pretty big change from flying straight and watching instagram on your phone instead of playing the game.
I used to be a bomber main. I would set my bomber on course, do some math homework, check back in 5 minutes, press spacebar, die. repeat. It is this lothargic style of gameplay that you are somehow championing over actually trying to interact and engage enemy planes.
No? Games in general are about taking your fictional role and playing according to it. Tell that to those who dig trenches in Foxhole or drive supplies in arma or something.
No, there were 2 brackets - 7.0-8.3 and 5.0-6.7. I just merged them in this comment.
Also, seems like, Gaijin made nuke thunder just regular ±1.0 thing, so, 7.0-8.3 and 5.0-6.7 are just “ai units brackets” as we have with 8.7-10.0 and 10.3-11.7 where ai units are changed between 10.0 and 10.3, iirc
My mistake then. But if F-4 were the only reason, they wouldn’t have removed that win condition for all jet tiers. Like I said, ARB increasingly became more PVP oriented because a majority who played it wanted it. It’s that simple.
Just like terrible, small grb maps. We think of them as trash, but a majority of players want quick action that fits in with their time. And this is how it went.
Gaijin does bad changes, but those changes are always “what the player demanded” in a sense.
