Changes to Bomber Survivability Feedback and Discussion

God you guy dong think whild wanting bombers to be unkillable so that theh fly straight and do nothing

Some sort of auto convergence targetting system like in naval, no lead indicators, but auto convergence would be nice

It’s a CIA post btw, you do realize that’s something rejected by the entire community, right?

Since you suggested it, why don’t you play World of Warplanes too? The bombers are much tankier there and they serve more of a purpose in battles. 😊Look forwards to seeing you there!

How often do you see that happen? The absolute majority of bombers get destroyed by a short spray from a fighter.

And yes, that absolutely is luck based.

Dude, passing right behind and shooting isn’t the only way to bring down a bomber. You can also get underneath and target the crew compartments, which actually made up 40% of the attacks during WWII.

I think we found who made these posts guys

Whats funny is these type of people can vote on the poll, the same people that look at that b17 tanking 6 phoenix video, and fail to see the missiles going for the center of the formation and blowing up in the center missing everything entirely, and then ignoring the videos disproving b17s tanking even one aim 54 or r27

You don’t need a sim setup at all to play sim, especially not a bomber.

You use the mouse joystick to pitch up, and G to pull your gear up. I know that’s quite hard since you’re used to an airspawn.

Dude, no matter what they say, I think this change was great. At least it gave bomber aircraft a chance at survival.

Seems legit. He just needed to aim better and aim for an actual weak spot like the pilots windshield from the front. We all know German cannons couldn’t bring down the mighty FORTRESS.

They had a chance at survival. You just need to actually engage in the game and pay attention.

AN/M3 are historically weak cannons and this is realistic damage. Ju-288 spam is going to be so peak when you can’t bring it down at all.

Sure, it’s manageable, but with the .50 cals and especially the 7mm turrets you absolutely need accuracy to actually deal with fighters.

The larger turrets tend to do fine, which is why I said “with a few exceptions”.

That would be a great change and there is plenty more that could be done to improve manual control over gunners

I definitely can say that with how often I see bombers either losing their wings or their tail from a distance at which turrets are just spray-and-pray.

How many of those kills were with your front facing guns and how many were achieved by using your turrets manually?

That highly depends on the bomber.

Thanks for confirming your posts are just ragebait and not feedback gaijin should listen to.

Instead of always trying to destroy the wings, would you mind trying to destroy the engines instead?
Or try pilot sniping?

Now load stealth

If they’re shooting from that far, just move. Bar the beaviest bombers you can typically avoid shots, or better yet anticipate their approach and setup before they get to you to make it harder for them.

All of them except one guy landing on the proxy airfield, because the B26’s nose control is HORRIBLE lol.

Edit, I would like to add that I am not a crazy bomber pilot, but when I do play bombers I tend to have success shooting people down with the turrets, not just by B26 example; That was just mentioned because it was today. It’s not easy by any means, will never claim it is but that’s the fun in it. It’s a skill that is to be learned.

That highly depends on the bomber.

Obviously, that’s how variety works. There will be better, there will be worse.
