Changes to Bomber Survivability Feedback and Discussion

You can go look at clips earlier in the thread. There are plenty of examples of people going for engines or fuselage attacks from direct rear.

Just give me a minute to upload two minutes of engine and fuselage spray

Those bombers usually are the ones that people are complaining about when they say they are too weak.

Interesting, though looking at the B26 compared to other bombers, you do get a pretty good rear coverage with .50 cals, if you look at other nations, most of them just get 7mm turrets or terrible coverage

Oh, I’m not trying to say that it is impossible, but as it stands in the majority of matches, most bombers are extremely easy targets that can be shot down with little do no risk.

I will admit though, the people that don’t even try to defend themselves don’t deserve to complain about a lack of survivability.

Great work on the damage models. Can finally fly bomber just like how the emperor intended.

For the record, I’m not opposed to some change to bombers; my main point is it’s so blatantly over-tuned / bugged right now. If it took a few more shots to kill a bomber not a big deal, but if they’re soaking all of a plane’s ammo… god no. We seem to be in an agreement on that front.

Go for the engines you say?

Imagine trying to take down a bomber in ANY russian prop fighter

In the current state of dev? I’d cry lol. Any 20mm is basically useless and requires a pilot snipe.

Ragebait you fell for. Ive already made my points, disproven false facts, and it didnt even register to you guys, you have trouble parsing information, so then I started baiting you guys to see if im talking with logical thinkers, or emotional thinkers, and you proved emotional

Tell you fighters what, when I get back from work, Im going to hop into a test flight with a cannon fighter, and an MG fighter and im gonna kill a bomber in the first pass with both, post it here, and prove that all of your complaints stems from a core skill issue, sound good? Gooooood

That’s not looking too bad, if you set an engine on fire, aim for another one or just leave the bomber alone after setting the first one ablaze

They are most likely going to die after losing too much engine power, no need to follow the bomber and waste your ammo on the rest of the fuselage/airframe.

The first engine probably already counted as “severe damage” in a real match anyway lol

Current fire damage does zero damage to anything else, in custom match a friend with Tu-95 ate an IRIS-T, got all the engines on fire and managed to easily turn back and land on airfield while still on fire.

So if I post videos of bombers successfully killing fighters you can stop complaining about bombers being too weak? Gooood

The lack of fire damage is what should be fixed then

As long as you can turn the engine red or black (or alternatively pilot snipe the bomber), the rest of the airframe tanking a bunch of bullets should be fine.

probably using the XF5U as a reference given its shown resistance to wrecking balls

It has been proven many times that this is impossible with current AI gunner firing distance. Any videos of you doing otherwise is obvious proof of cheating and can be reported and acted upon. Gooooood

Yeah my bad man.

I hate it when people complain about the AI gunners sucking lol

Did that guy complain after getting killed by the turrets?

What a terrible approach to attack a bomber lmao
