Lying? The F6Fs and P-47s were between 4 and 5 times as heavy as the Zero. Of course the Zero is way less durable than the F6F and P-47.
While the B-24 still had to be built with durability in mind, as it is a bomber, they knowingly made sacrifices to make it faster and give it a higher bomb-load.
If you go for durability above all else, you get something like the B-17, Wellington, Windsor or Halifax. If you want something more practical, you get the B-24, Lancaster or Pe-8.
The B-24, Lancaster and Pe-8 still were very durable, but just because they weren’t flying tanks doesn’t mean that they weren’t designed with durability in mind.
The video in question was a test where he was infact trying to show that HE under a certain mass does nothing to the dev bomber dms. So you are using the clip without context to spread misinformation.
Here’s a followup clip of his that showcases the actual problem:
Could you name a mode other than ARB where I can grind or play the planes I have? There isn’t one, right? Everyone has a right to have fun in this game, and it’s not just a PvP arcade game. If you want, you can go play World of Warplanes (if that even still exists).
People don’t even get a chance to use their turrets currently.
Even when controlled manually, the accuracy of bomber turrets is so terrible, that killing anything with them is luck-based.
The damage model change is going a bit overboard, but as it stands on the live servers, you don’t have a chance to “play the game” when using a bomber. Flying in a straight line and hoping that fighters ignore you is the best thing you can do in most bombers because (with a few exceptions) turrets are completely unreliable.
Dude, like you said, it’s called ‘SİM’ for a reason. Do you really think everyone has the setup to play sim? God, you guys genuinely don’t think. Look, I’m not saying the damage model is ‘fully realistic’ by any means, but if you use a bit of logic, you’re trying to snap or tear off a wing not by hitting it from above, but by shooting it from behind. If you think about it logically, you’ll realize it’s impossible for something like that to snap with just 2 or 3 rounds.
Giving bombers the ability to set the gunner convergence mid flight would be a great help for the accuracy, but you cannot say they don’t get a chance to actually use their turrets. I was just stock grinding the B26, and that thing sucks balls yet I didn’t die once and got a few kills. It’s really not hard surviving as a bomber.
