Alright, and do you have statistics on how many of these bombers were actually lost to fighters, and more importantly, how many were catastrophic structural failures over getting engines shot out and not making it back to england? Because gaijin does, again, try and prove them wrong. They did more research than ALL of us. They had tons of people PAID to do it and special access to whatever they wanted as a company

this is the biggest issue imo, they use data for American aircraft like the B-17 which are known to be better built and far more durable than other aircraft
Looking at the durability of bombers on the dev-server, I feel like they are taking the Vickers Wellington as a point of reference

Not just materials, the construction of the aircraft. It is like the difference between F6F or P-47 and a Zero
It still falls within “X nation had historical Y attribute to their vehicle and this must be represented in the game without looking into the balance of things”.
In another words/bottom line - In the end of the game War Thunder is, although realistic*, but ultimately an arcade PvP seasonal flight sim** and things must be balanced for all players
Bombers generally use similar approaches to construction, unless you are Vickers and just go completely overboard and use a geodesic airframe
You are comparing two planes that were built to be more durable to a plane that was built to be lighter and more maneuverable when you should be comparing two planes that both were built to be more durable
If anything it is you who wants foreign aircraft to get nonsense buffs with 0 evidence. It is not some random buff, for American bombers there is extensive documentation and design information to buff their damage resistance.
If you weren’t lying, then why did aircrews prefer the B-17 for battle damage resistance even though the B-24 was better in other performance metrics. Both are heavy bombers built for combat

You don’t see the issue in using data for a bomber that is legendary for being exceptionally durable even compared to other bombers for these buffs?
Most bombers weren’t as durable as a B-17, this is surface level knowledge
The majority of them in 1943. Destroying the Luftwaffe day fighter arm and getting long range fighters to units became and even bigger priority following the losses of the 1st Schweinfurt raid.
You think they did more research than the USAF or RAF did following the war? More than the Luftwaffe did during the war?
They simply did not.
It’s like claiming they did more research into their flight models than anyone else when in a lot of cases they blow documented numbers out of the water.

The damage models are fine.
MB326K still eats through bombers, as do 30mms in general, you just have to aim more.
The only real issue is engine fires not damaging what they’re supposed to.
Edit: B29’s engine fires are supposed to rip a wing off relatively quickly due to spar damage from the engine fire, as an example.
They don’t in-game.

Eh, if anything, with “Fatal damage” mechanic - bombers still die relatively quick, just gotta aim for engines and “kill” half of them for FD to trigger
You do realise how stupid this take is ? If I want to win a game I shouldn’t be forced to pick a plane designed to kill bombers. It would just be the stupidest change to AirRB.

New point to add here, grab a 109G6 and load stealth rounds into that mk108. Shoot the wing and see what happens lmao. We are using the wrong ammo types.
