His entire argument is that when you calculated the hole for the impact explosion, you used Mk 108 variables, which is wrong because this is a 20mm mineshell. You can pretty much disregard the right-most image, only the left-most matter here.
The whole point of the 55mm rocket was to kill a bomber in a single shot. I’ve shown it surviving multiple. Other people have shown them surviving even larger rockets. We have also shown light bombers like Blenheim Mk IV surviving multiple 30mm shots to the tail from multiple angles.
There isnt a “specific variable” per shell, this is purely off of TNT filler, I can calculate 20, 30, 37, 50, whatever filler you want going off on the surface, itll calculate to a highly accurate degree

TL;DR: your formula is severely underestimating the hole size, because it’s saying a 30mm mineshell is making this hole, when in reality it’s a 20mm one.
I just stated the formula matches a surface detonation, which if i plug in the 20mm shells numbers for the literal surface detonation example, it matches the surface detonation hole on the left exactly.
But since this is a shell going off INSIDE an enclosed space, you also have to worry about how much force the panels can whitstand from an explosive going off in an explosive space with a fixed volume
And now this is bringing in even more unpredictable variables
The larger the space, the less effect this will have, what if the space already has holes that lets the pressure escape before skin tearing? What if its in a stronger section of a b17s wing instead of a 0.6mm he111 tail?
See, I wouldnt trust a clanker to calculate that, or even a human, every spot on the plane would have a different result, and those results themselves would have different results based on literally ambient air pressure at the altitude the plane was shot at and weather the plane was already shot.
I went with the most predictable set of variables for consistency. plain surface detonation

The question is what to do with the guard mode. The bomber’s body is so sturdy that the weapons on low-level buildings can hardly cause any damage to it. Moreover, it is even more surprising that bombers are now rarely shot down by air-to-air missiles. As a result, these big machines have truly become aerial battleships.:0
