Changes to Bomber Survivability Feedback and Discussion

There should be tons of US gun cam from Pacific. What I learned from Pacific report is they can be easily shot down by 12.7 cm

What are japanese planes NOTORIOUS for?

Fire.

Is there claims or footage of these 12.7mms flat out cutting off a wing outright?

It is important to note that the Mk 108 Incendiary round does have some explosive charge, so yes it is capable of making holes.

Here it is, the “Minen-Brandgranate”, or mine-incendiary shell

“Sprengladung”, if I’m not mistaken, is explosive filler.

Obviously the holes will be smaller, the filler is lesser.

I shoot any other plane’s fuel tanks. There is a very high chance that even a single hit, with a cannon, will set that fuel tank on fire.

I shoot the dev bomber’s fuel tanks 600 times. Nothing happens.

It’s a bomber issue.

If it is a control surface… where’s the balance tab?

That explains a lot actually lol

The nose (and by extension the armament on it) is interchangeable.

every time it gets posted the caliber goes up by 1mm

it’s like inverse A6M Zero compression speed, anytime it is discussed it goes down 1mph

Given it’s not 4-5 hits in a relatively small area, it makes sense it was not brought down.

me when I can’t read

Nobody said it cant make holes, my equation was reponsible for actually figuring out how big the hole from that carge would be

Didn’t the Japanese burn all the documents after the war? I wish we had the opportunity to read their documents too.

If they were infact brought down easily by 12.7s and they are shrugging off hundreds of rounds of 20mms in game what might that say about the realism of this change?

For some reason the WT forum deleted the fact I was replying to this comment. @RoyalWaffles

If the nose is interchangable find the documentation of that specific 110 from that squadron on that day being sent up with which armament, im driving home now, stay tuned

Forums may be having a stroke after 2100 messages of this absolute disaster

We don’t have documents, but there’s a good number of pilot testimonies. I posted a translation of one above who engaged B-29s with a Ki-61.

Don’t feel like it. You can ask your AI council to do it instead so we can all laugh at it.

Treating the best case scenario as average is a statistic problem. It would invalidate user feedback regarding this topic.

“Dont feel like it” = I cant prove it and dont want to admit it. L

Official documents are fake bro.

Germans lied in their own documents because they knew they were going to lose the war but they wanted to win at War Thunder.

Multiple rockets hit in the video. Read the actual historical documentation as well.

Why are the Germans doctoring their own testing? Did they make a giant fabric covered He.111 vertical stabilizer just to make their HE rounds look more impressive in internal testing?

Or is it more likely the the AI bot that our little buddy is using is spitting out bad information? And that our little buddy is just arguing in bad faith?

Guy doesn’t know what a vertical stabilizer looks like and thinks microfilm reels are actual motion pictures. This is in spite of posting one himself but because AI didn’t highlight it for him he doesn’t know that and because AI didn’t spoon feed him the idea he can’t even discern it.

Oh so we’re believing pilot testamonies now? Just like we believed the b52 testamonies? The double standards here are crazy, this favoratism is palpable

Yeah that why I am asking why are we just focus on the B-17 test

The only thing we can really get from the Japanese bombers is US fighters overclaiming because the same bomber would put out the fire and then be set on fire again iirc.

Japanese made heavy use of fire extinguishers even if their fuel tanks were relatively unprotected.

You yourself said the crew was in a closed off cabin at the front and couldn’t see anything. Why should we listen to them?

Why should we listen to teenagers shooting japs looking for glory, im sure they didnt overstate their kill numbers at all

Vs

An older, more trained crew of multiple people reporting the same thing on their aircraft getting shot

Why should we listen to any crews then?
