Changes need to be made to 35mm SPAA

Same way any other SPAA world.

you’d have to be delusional to think a 7.3 or 8.3 should be stronger than a 9.0.

personally i still think the aphe or ap or any round that has high performance against tanks from all of the spaa in the game so the the spaa can actually be used for aa

And you’re delusional to think that the M173 and Shilka can cover an entire 1.7 BR gap for radar SPAA. Just like every other one of your takes, this is ridiculous.

The M163’s tracking radar is so incredibly bad, that I would prefer if it didn’t have a radar. It cannot consistently shoot down even early jets, and you want it to cover an entire BR bracket from 7.3 to 8.3 for SPAA.

Thats what the apds would be for, would limit them to a kill or two if there careful. The sidam is sat at the same brs as all of these spaa and has this exact setup. The aphe change will never come now so this is the only other way i could see the spaa lot getting balanced. Although this would have to happen across the board as even the shilka has limited use cases against light tanks, but more so it would be unfair on the rest if it didnt see these changes.

This so my thought process too.

Give all of them, realistic or not, the ability to carry the 40 rounds of APDS and then remove the APHE. Either that or the APHE needs to be changed but if that won’t happen, give them some ability to maybe kill 1 or 2 tanks if they get forced into a corner.

Even when they run out of APDS, they still can disable vehicles with HE, albeit less effectively. I love playing 35mm SPAA, but they need to be realistically balanced. They are already all strong SPAA’s. They cannot also be strong IFV’s. (Yes, I am aware that many IFV’s double as SPAA’s. None of them have the track radar or the ability to lock on to aircraft until at least 9.0 to my knowledge while the Gepards and such are 8.3).

No, sorry you’re just bad.

Someone posted a suggestion for a variant without it.

Englishmen everyone here. Take the M163 to 8.7, where you so dearly believe it can be effective: Take it there and show us how you do.

Go on. Flatter us.

(And blatantly ignoring that only 2 or 3 nations would have radar SPAA at that BR. lol…)

The hardest part is actually finding an enemy to kill. Most 8.7 matches get 1-2 plane spawns do to how ridiculously OP SPAA is at that BR.

You mean, 2-3 wouldn’t?

America : M163
Russia : Shilka
Japan : M163
China : WZ305
Italy : Shilka
Sweden : Veak 40
Israel : M163 and Shilka

That only leaves Germany, France, and Britain.

Congratulations. Almost all of these are M163’s and Shilka. You proved my original point wrong.

Now, explain to me how a Shilka or M163 is supposed to kill 8.3 to 9.0 CAS when their guns have the effective range of a super soaker.

Your suggestion is to move the Gepard and such up to 9.0. That does create an SPAA void, as there will be no effective SPAA in that BR bracket besides the Veak and WZ305.

You are asking for gun based SPAA to move to a BR where planes like the A4E gets TV guided Walleyes, making it so that way it is guaranteed that they can fire while being outside your effective range.

You are asking for 3 nations to be left without SPAA at a BR where jets moving at 800kmh+ will easily dodge any of their incoming fire, no matter how close they are. Germany will be left with the Weasel. Britain will be left with the Falcon, which while not bad, cannot be used effectively past 2km. France will be stuck with the AMX-10P (which it already is, but you are trying to move the 30DCA up further).

This is also ignoring the fact that the M163 and Shilka are already ineffective anti-air, with even the most average of pilots being able to avoid getting killed by them. Even the Gepards and such are not hard to avoid. I have never been killed by a Gepard/ Gepard adjacent vehicle.

If you are seriously complaining SPAA is quite “ridiculously OP at that BR,” you have the world’s biggest skill issue. They are very effective within 2.5km, but past that, you shouldn’t be getting hit by them if you are even semi-aware.

Struggling in CAS against gun based SPAA is hilarious.

By shooting them.

Then just move the A-4E up. It’s currently one of the only 7.3-10.3 CAS planes that’s actually balanced.

No, I’m asking for SPAA to be moved to BRs where it’s balanced.

Sorry, but that’s just skill issue.

XD you say that whilst being unable to shoot down a plane, even with a lead indicator.

And believe it or not, you don get hit by SPAA by, now hear this is gonna be crazy, dodging them! Wow!

I’ve could have more productive conversations with a brick wall.

And don’t pretend we don’t see these sub .5 KpB in literally every SPAA you play. I don’t have fantastic KD’s either, but I never claimed they were easy to use and overpowered

Enlighten us, oh great Pangolin with your terrible take of today.

Bro really thinks he’s an anime mc who can just dodge everyone’s attacks 🤣

2.1, but ok.

KpB my guy

Show me the radar please

Why are you so afraid to show the whole picture?

Except they don’t have to pen. Low caliber APHE overpressures armour after a number of hits on account of the 360 degree detonation that people opted against fixing. Conqueror makes this interaction incredibly obvious, especially with the addon armour. The turret strike face, without aiming for any particular weakpoint, ends up being overpressured.

What I meant to say is I like that SPAA can actively do things other than just shoot the few air targets that show up per game. I like how top tier SAM gets a secondary scouting role and I like how some gun SPAA can function in an IFV like role.

Unless that role is something that is functionally impossible in reality, I think it should stay represented in game.

I don’t see any problem with people using them even just like IFVs, the only real problem is that they’re so needed for the 8.3 lineups that they can’t move up if they’re too strong there. And for that I’d prefer to split them in separate vehicles with different ammunition options so that both the 8.3 BR slot and full capability can be in game at the same time.

He has also played the regular M163 I believe and won’t show that either.

I wonder why…

Figured out why. I know Statshark isn’t accurate but he has less than a .5KD in the U.S M163.

I’m sure everyone is shocked. Also, if 35mm SPAA are so overpowered, how is it that you can’t get a 1kd against planes with the XM246? You know, the 2nd best 35mm SPAA?

Well his argument is total KD anyway because reasons (regardless of the fact we are talking about plane killing). The hovet did not even show up for me at first since he has less than 50 battles in it and I have a filter set for that so that it does not show vehicles which have not yet had their stats stabilise because someone only played 10 or so exceptional matches.

Hovet is the same as the American M163 right? Because he has less than a .5KD in that one (KpB is probably even worse) so he of all people should know that the M163 is not a good SPAA, especially after 318 matches with it.

Also the spawn costs. Over the last years it became just not conviniant to spawn planes. Playing air only SPAA is like torture. Nothing happens, nothing to do in most matches. The new double spawn point mechanic, even for the tiniest bombs and ammo with 40+mm pen just killed it.
