IIRC that’s been a feature of every kinetic projectile they’ve developed since DM63 and onwards with the propellant incrementally becoming more and more inert.
Why is that? to lessen barrel wear or what?

Inert - in this context does not blow up when hit. So no ammo explosion, or limited to minimum.

Well most western and western influenced MBTs have blowout panels
I thought it would just provide less pressure on the breach so less muzzle velocity than a less inert propellant
thats still an explosion that happens
With blowout panels you lose all your ammo and in real life it immobilises the tank as the crew have to exit before it spreads into their compartment
I thought if the ammo detonated within the blowout panels the crew could return to base and have it fixed by the field mechanics
I find it hilarious that now the Challenger 3 TD and the base Challenger 2 are at the same BR
As stupid as it is, at least the CR3TD now fits quite nicely in with the new 11.7 (old 11.3) lineup

I mean they 3 TD is just a challenger 2 with the challenger 3 cannon and ammo placement
The CR3 TD should not have been added, we should have gotten the CR2 CLIP, the CR2 Streetfighter 2, CR2 CSP and then the Challenger 3 with Trophy and the 1500hp engine

Street fighter 2 was a mockup, and doesn’t even add anything anyway, just more weight. Literally just crew fantasies.
CSP is a CR3TD without the L/55 & upgraded sights.
What your probably referring to as a CR3 with Trophy and a 1500hp engine, is a later mock-up built on the CR3 TD we have in game.
The Brimstone launcher was a mockup I think. They other stuff, like the dozer blade and cameras were real though

It is better to change the advanced technology demonstration car (ATD) in the current game to a real Challenger 3 prototype, just like the CV90105TML was modified to CV90105XC8. At least the armour and equipment will be more perfect than the current crippled state.
Although I personally don’t think that Gaijin will give British players the same preferential treatment as in Sweden, it would be good if this modification plan was successfully implemented.
