Modern British Army vehicle engines are measured using DIN or ISO standards rather than our own BSS standard, so if they state it has 1500hp that is likely not going to see a furthur increase
The modern CV12 datasheet uses the ISO 14396:2002 standard for example
yeah, i tried to look up the ISO standard but all the documentation needs to be paid for.
but then I have to wonder how it links back to the doc that got the CV12 buffed in-game, like the ISO datasheet still has a 1200hp row in the table for example
Those are just the stated performance statistics for different engine ratings, they don’t directly relate to how much horsepower the engine produces when in the tank.
ISO is also a different standard to DIN, which is what the CV12 has it’s engine power modelled off ingame now
my point was more related to what hp it could/would get in game, seeing as the hp uplift report was accepted based on the leo 2s using the DIN measured hp (so CV12 should also use its DIN rated power)
The horsepower will be whatever RBSL or the MOD say it is, unless they provide specific DIN horsepower values and then they can use those.
We got the engine power increased for the CV12 as the brochures specifically stated the BSS AND DIN horsepower values together, which is rare for the British armoured vehicle brochures.
Ingame the CR3 will have at least 1314 hp, anything more that that and it will just be whatever primary sources state it is. If they say it’s 1500hp, it will be that ingame, regardless if it’s DIN or not. We cannot for example just apply a blanket horsepower increase to that 1500hp just beause it isn’t DIN, you would need the specific measured DIN values to do that.
That would make sense for some of the Challenger 2 variants ingame, as they only recieved HAAIP later on in their lives. However, every CR3 will have had HAAIP from the start so imo they should just get it from the get go.
