Apparently that engine can actually run at 2000hp but its limited by the gearbox because of the vibrations it causes

There is a seperate thread specifically for the Challenger 3 pre-production, this thread is a generic Challenger 3 discussion thread which can include both the TD and Pre-production.

The 3TD is part of the evolution of the Challenger 3, it is completely fair to dicuss it and even discuss the Challenger 2 if it relates to the Challenger 3.

If you want a thread specifically for the pre-production Challenger 3, please use that thread

CR3 with Turret ERA

nice photo

Rather than ERA, it looks more like composite plates.

Frontal LWS/ELAWS are installed this time as well. Starting to look like the model Grant Schapps presented

Very nice photo, where did you find this?

Looks like base turret armour, then an extra plate and finally the six smaller plates bolted on top? Or is the base armour different to the previously seen prototypes?

Are these “ear” sensors part of the LWS?

mhm same as on the black night no?

They’re present on the Ajax, that makes me think maybe they are acoustic sensors?

I mean that sensor is usualy the rod on the roof for like weather stuff no? idk man

I’m not sure to be honest, I just know the Ajax has acoustic sensors and was throwing it out there

I imagine as monkey said they’re probably just the frontal LWS

bit weird to just have frontal LWS but ok

The rear has integrated LWS

neat, now all we wait for is the APS they wrote about

It also appears that there is some additional armour/material mounted to the turret side as it extends out past the corners/side of the turret from the frontal view.

Compared to the “bare” turret.

Once again matching the model almost perfectly

mhm an extra 10mm of ke protection I believe along with maybe 50 chemical

it looks a bit thicker than that but yeah I dont think its anything groundbreaking lol

Im very interested to see if/when we will see the lower front plate composite

wasnt there another model that showed a mega LFP…
