ohhh, i remember that one.
it was explained to me extensively
I agreed that it should be added in the UK

Loan to use is why I have issues with the Swede T-80U and AH-64A and CR2 130. Same if Sweden got the Leclerc…
Damn, you guys are still going at it?
Question: Was the Canadian C1 that had the gun changed switched back to the back to the L7A3 after the fact and given back to Germany?
u dont believe how funny i find this right now considering i was called a hypocrit earlier, cause of someone comparing my opinion of canada/australian to the challenger 130 xD
It is literally specified in the suggestion that it’s loaned.
“The main objective for Rheinmetall is the MGCS programme, in which the 130 mm competes against Nexter’s 140 mm proposal. “We consider that currently the overall 130 mm system has a TRL 2-3, the weapon more towards 3 while the autoloader being closer to 2,” Christoph Henselmann says, explaining that in February 2021 Rheinmetall started for the first time direct negotiation between the industries of both France and Germany. “In two years time, in late 2022, we expect the bi-national customer to decide which will be the main armament calibre, but simultaneously we are working on an upgrade solution for in-service 120 mm platforms,” he adds, stressing that the weapon system for manned turrets will not be completely identical to the one being proposed for the MGCS, the fitting of the 130 mm gun in a manned turret being less optimised that in an unmanned one, thus requiring some adaptations.”
This is just him talking about Rheinmetall main objective at the time which was 2021 was the MGCS program and the gun that might be for it. Not that the Challenger 2 130mm main and only reason for being made was for MGCS
“Christoph Henselmann also clarifies the appearance of the 130 mm on a video showing a Challenger 2 fitted with the new gun. “In April 2020 we had a window of opportunity when the Challenger 2 was in Unterlüss and no further tests were planned, to install the 130 mm on it, following the clearance from the UK customer. The British tank is a little wider than the Leopard 2, making things easier,” he says. Within the limited three weeks time the work concentrated on verifying how the 130 mm gun is well balanced inside a current 120 mm turret, checking stabilisation.”
Paragraph before explains that it was done by clearance of the UK mod showing that they had interest in the gun on there Challenger 2 ATD test bed
it was a two birds with one stone because they get to test the gun and show it what the British can have but to say the British had zero intrest and help is silly as without them it wouldn’t of happened as they had paid and given a tank that was made for this 130mm gun in mind
it is two different things
RO owned the tank and didn’t get anyones approval to do the project
Edit
Never mind it was loaned
Then it is up to Gajin who they think deserves it more
quoting you, but it was only a gun switch.
Nothing important
Returned to the Canadian army, my point was more that by the argument the user was making for the CR130 just doesn’t really make sense, given that it’s almost entirely a Rhinemetall internal thing, the only UK input being that the Chassis used was british.
Its a leopard. the panther demonstrator literally uses a 2a4 hull.
Germany certainly isnt russia in bias towards that nation vs others but has always gotten the cream of the crop in additions and the legitimacy of additions bent to further bolster it.
Theres no reason germany should have gotten the class 3p a month or so before the SA subtree was implemented
no reason the canadian 2a4m should be in germany when the OES challenger pack was a total flop and would be a worthy premium replacement to britain, canada also deserves a permanent home which makes the most sense in britain, especially with the CF188 and Ram 2 (with its correct name instead of the fake sherman style designation) being there
Germany also has brimstone 1 on a tornado and eurofighter when this isnt the case in the real world
Germany has started procuring newer brimstones so shouldnt have this generation at all.
Oh yea there was the AMD with a pak that germany complained into the german tree because it initially was only gonna be for france, where it should have stayed
the indian subtree is a different situation to most.
Its been used more as a way to deny things that actually fit the british tree (canada and australia) more than its been used for good. Indian vehicles are also the least played in the british tree so its clearly such a popular addition right?
You mean the whole tank but the gun and autoloader (The cheeks are sheet metal don’t really count)
it was fitting the gun the made to tank that was part of the British Challenger upgrade a gun that was advertised for it
this is still going???
so the vickers mk 7 is a leopard???
The chassis alone doesnt make a tank.
The EMBT is not a leopard either.
The gepard is not a leopard.
oh i would love to hear that explained further. Last i know i wasnt the one getting multiple vehicles of trees that werent a subtree.
no real comment to it, it was before my time. But generaly all is fair before its officialy a subtree
germany does need a premium for that br as well, all nations got some.
And for that BR range, its all german exports pretty much.
So either way a nation would have gotten screwed. and the 2a4M can is a special place in germanys history since it is the only KMW upgrade kit. Canada still is not subtree and Uk has no right to it.
Britain already has to many subtrees, which give to big of a diversity. Thats a fact.
I do agree canada deservers a home. But a standalone / hybrid with australia would be better.
It being unlikely or far in the future, is another matter. But once it comes the 2a4M Can, can always be removed as a premium, to add it to canadain tree.
that one i agree and i am against.
that one was trialed since quite a while by us, and the official orders are there.
In the counter argument, you benefit by our spice now as well.
did britains even use brim 1s on euros as well? we both know that gajin if it has to changes to older variants to “balance” that has nothing to do with germany. Italy got the same and arguably has it just as bad.
france and germany is a give and take and germany realy had a lack of lights at that range
i think that has more to do with shitty implementation and nearly everything being premium or squadron at this point.
I just hope the arjun and everything will be added as techtree as it should be.
The potential is there and should be used.
Come on MOD release some photos of a CH3 prototype with APS fitted so we can talk about something other than CH130 in the CH3 thread.
They aren’t but doesn’t automatically mean the nation builder will get them either if they already got an equivalent.
well, theoreticaly that does exist, its just a mock up and was denied for implementation cause of that
are you still all debating the 130mm challenger 😭
just have it go to both trees
There will be 60x Trophy kits for the CR3 fleet with plug and play capability
