Challenger 3 MBT - Technical Data and Discussion

I find this very interesting!

It displays a bit of insight into the turret’s armor structure hahah.

I was already fascinated when I saw it modelled like that ingame, since I knew the reference pics already.

A friggin joke

I think it’s worth noting that the roofs of these things are probably just as badly modelled as the breach.

Hope somebody makes a Tech Demo skin without the logo’s so we can get it on the marketplace.

Hard to tell about suspension arms

found this side shot although is from DSEI 2021

Thanks, sadly the suspension arms cant be seen.

Is it just me where the turret body doesn’t get dirty like the hull and barrel/breach

Yep they are not. It is reported

My CR3 doesn’t even get the anti slip surfaces render in. I seen them once pop up in hanger very briefly but never since.

Just like you’ve put there, the “Challenger 3” in game isn’t even a Challenger 3, it should be a derivative of the Challenger 2. I’ve put a report in here: Community Bug Reporting System

Maybe they’ll change the name to be more indicative of what it is (these images are all DSEI 2019)

Challenger2ATDMain

Nah, it was then named 2 LEP (Chalenger 2 LEP 2019 ATD if we want to be precise), but was later named a Cr3 wile being its TD, That is why we have it as a 3TD

The exact model we have in game with the upgrades it has are 2019, when it was called the 2 ATD. Once it received more upgrades it was named the 3, no?
The 2019 demo has minimal changes to the hull and turret, just a redesign to fit the gun?

Nah, it was named Cr3 somewhere in 2020, where there were no changes to it, and then in 2021 we saw 2021 Cr3 TD

Also not minimal, the turret is a heavly modified, digitalized Cr2 turret, with ammo compartment, removal of usseles things ect

Ah that’s my bad, I meant minimal changes to the hull. The Challenger 3 has a range of planned hull changes but this one was all speculative.

Yea, to the hull there were minimal changes. Wheels are a mix of normal and slimmed design, new driver periscope with built in tvd, i cant remember anything more
And the hull changes are well, we have a sneak peak of the new ufp, EPSOM armor inside, 9a enigine, 3rd gen hydrogas and all the things inside the crew compartment with digitalization, storing NATO 120 ect.

We do?

The reason for the CR2 name was because at that time the programme was still LEP, and we still intended on having upgraded Challenger 2’s. Hence CR2 Black Night. Once the scale of the programme was refined a new mark was designated.
