Challenger 2 needs to be brought to developers attention

Internal model would be more like this if the diagram was cut away.

I can see a bug report regarding the mantlet was recently acknowledged!

Hopefully this time it will lead to a fix, hopefully within the next 3 years lmao (I have seen acknowledged bugs take several years to be fixed).

And hopefully, they won’t reject it for “balance reasons”, like many NATO/West-Armor related bug reports.

Is that the drawing you attached to the bug report? It’s excellent, thank you for the work!

Yep, it’s not mine originally but I did add the orange plate at the back. Think it shows the scheme nicely.

Got something for me to add to the report?

Don’t think so, should all be on there, maybe if Spanish made a cut away corrected diagram I could add that but apart from that.

I just had a bit of a play on the test drive to check for ammo replenishment, this is by no means accurate to the millisecond, but it gives a general idea.

I’m not quire sure how the famously ergonomic and spacious t-55 crew manages to beat out the chieftain by almost 10 seconds, but there you go.

Things aren’t any better with the challenger 1 line, and at least on top tier it’s the same as the t-80, but the critical difference is the ch2 only has 4 rounds in it’s ready rack. Again, I’m not sure how the famously spacious t-80 crew managed to get the round and it’s propellant into the carousel in the same time as the challenger crew managed to remove a round and charge from a bin.

It seems what gaijin have done is just make up a grossly inflated figure for the chieftains and then just never bothered to update it for any of the challenger line.

TLDR - Ready rack replenishment times make no sense and are just total fantasy.

The reason why it take so long is reasoning, that loader takes 2 pieces, so it needs to take double the time. It simply ignores the fact that those 2 pieces separately are lighter than a 1 full shell, and also ingores the fact that those giant racks at the back of the turrets of Cr 1 an 2 are also a first stage, but that is due to how first ammo racks are coded. In irl situation CR2 has 28 Darts ready rack(excluding those rounds that are stored at the floor of the crew compertment, but i do not know where and how much of them are there so i will not include them), and 4 propelants (unless aiming in a front arc, then bins at the back of the hull are also a 1st stage rack resaulting in a 38 charges ready rack).

The thing is, I believe the t-72 is a 2 part round as well, but isn’t pelanised to nearly the same degree.

Well, just gaijin things.

Reload time, replenishment time, and loading speed is all fictional and used for balancing iirc.
CR2 should have a 3 second fire rate, and an extremely brief ready rack speed but…hey ho.
