No, pins go through the rotor and into the cast turret structure… it does not use trunnions

There is a bug report for it, but I doubt its the priority lol, all the visual changes will come later, I hope they do at least, I would hate to have an armour change and not have visual changes.
@Morvran more reports to add to your list when you have time, as well as removing/crossing out some resolved ones, if any.
