Challenger 2 MBT - Technical data and Discussion (Part 2)

I really want a CR2 with a dozer blade

honestly I wish they would do additional armour packages as a drop down list that you can select before you enter a battle, that way you unlock the “additional armour” modification and it allows you to select between multiple armour configs, for example

Challenger 2 =
-Standard Skirts-
-Standard Skirts with Dozer-
-Long Skirts-
-Long Skirts with dozer-
-2f composite package-
-2f composite package with dozer-
-KFOR Armor package-

etc, and let the player choose which armour configuration they want to roll with in the game based on the map you are playing on. I put it as a suggestion to have a button that allows you to add or remove modifications on your tank while in a game, because realistically a crew would know the environment they will be operating in and will configure their vehicle accordingly, but in WT currently you don’t get that choice, and this should refer to armour packages as well as chained tyres, Winterketten and other modifications to the vehicle, like folding side skirts and camo nets etc; but realistically I think having a dropdown menu that lets you choose which armour package you want would be more interesting and would allow gaijin to add more armour compliments to vehicles, rather than adding whole new vehicles. The add on armour for the most part with nato vehicles doesnt usually change their BR as seen by the fact that all the challenger 2’s are the SAME br except the ones with radical modifications, ie, BK and 2E, so they could in theory change the challenger 2’s and call them by their year, ie, Challenger 2 (2000), Challenger 2 (2005), Challenger 2 (2015) etc, and give them all the armour packages that would have been available to them in those time periods, for example, as seen above. if their BR isnt dictated by their armour package, this would be a fun way to add some interesting differences to the challenger 2’s, AND would make each one a little unique as each player in a match may set up their vehicle differently depending on what they will be doing.

Yeah, that would be great for the CR2s but it means less variants they can add for us to farm out

true, but thats not entirely a bad thing, you’d still have 6 challenger 2’s. they can keep all the variants in the game currently and just rename them to, chally 2 2000, chally 2 2005 etc, but open up more armor options as you progress, ending with the TES which has the full ERA compliment, which the 2f doesnt, but allow the TES to equipt the 2f package if the player wants to, as it is an available configuration.

in short, the further you progress, the newer the challenger 2. the newer the challenger 2, the more armour packages that are available to it, including those that were available on the older ones.

edit: this may be an insane and silly idea, but i quite like the concept, and it could apply to alot of vehicles from other nations too, not just chally 2’s. it just opens the road up to more armour packages that they wouldnt usually add because it would require a whole new vehicle to do so in some cases. with this method, they could add them as another in the drop down list.

How about in the customisation screen?

Click on the area you want to change such as sideskirts, fuel drums, camo netting, dozer.

Maybe even things like the remote weapon station, 7.62/.50/40mm could be changed there.

I made a suggestion! hope it gets accepted, but it would be really fun. even made some mock up pictures of what it could look like. may have included the KFOR package in the pictures too ;)

Just been going through all the bug reports. How have all of them been accepted but not fixed. Still sad they messed up the mantlet twice

the crusader skin is still completely broken because they have locked rotation on it. i imagine its literally just a line of code or a button to allow players to rotate it again, and they haven’t done it yet so, because you cant rotate it, you end up with two black squares of composite rather than the texture they should have.

they had a road map for it and didnt even bother with it xD

U know i think you spike about the roadmap earlier at one point already.

Please show me that roadmap because i dont remember a roadmap only a list of bugs/suggestions they wanna work trough if anything

let me go find it mate, @Morvran may have a better idea.

Im talking about when gaijin had it in the roadmap to fix it and then didnt bother.

thats what i am saying if you mean the official roadmap i do not remember that being a point at any point

It was probably this:

They fixed a few things and broke even more and have done nothing since

If I remember right it was bundled in with it in the notification section of it, im looking through them now tryign to find where it is.
Maybe im wrong and got stuff mixed up, god knows theres enough going about

Yeah when that was announced it was round about the same time spring roadmap.

that one i remember . but like i said it is

and those have all been addressed in some way or form

if it was benedicial is another matter

The problem is 75% of the changes that came about from that dev thread were wrong and ahistorical changes that only nerfed the CR2 (all reported and acknowledged before the changes went live, but still havent been fixed). WIth MAJOR issues never even looked at. Im still waiting on them to actually give us the CR2 overhaul promised like 18 months ago

i mean the promised leopard DM update isnt anywhere to see either

besides wasnt that the one u send?

Given the Leopard has the best survivablity in game and the CR2 has one of the worst. I think I know which should be the priority. But its not even armour im talking about. Its things like the fact the CR2s still only have a 4 round ready rack isntead of the 28 it should have
