Challenger 2 MBT - Technical data and Discussion (Part 2)

No but the 5 second reloads on tbe ariete and merkava do.

Because, if it were 7.7, it would be facing Tiger IIs and M26s, which is ridiculous.

It used to be like that long ago and it was a bad joke.

Besides, Centurion Mk.3 already is 7.7; so if Mk.10 were to be 7.7, Mk.3 would have to drop to 7.3, which would make things even worse by making it face 6.3.

Remember, the leopard 1 used to be 7.3 while its contemporaries used to be 7.7?

Good times, the cent mk10 is absolutely fine at 8.0, same as the shot kal alef.

Heh… I remember when Centurion Mk.3 was 6.3, and then 6.7 lmao

It took years for it to finally stop facing Tiger Is, it was a meme in Live.WT.

I was originally talking about the chieftain mk3 and mk10 but i was tired when reading the other comments lol i dunno if my comments make sense lol

Yah the centurions are fine where they are.

The chieftain mk5 could really do with tbe l15a5 round and its LRF and it could potentially be 9.0

The mk10 is hitting 9.3 now.

The mk3 chieftain cant go down as it stomps.already in a downtier.
7.3s couldnt touch it

The thing is that change could have been done before br changed to achieve more balance

Just watch.

The mk5 without any changes will slide up to 9.0 after the mk10 goes to 9.3.

Why? Because there was so many complaints the mk3 was the same br as the mk5, so now i bet itll move to 9.0, maybe get a lrf. Maybe not.

It really could do with some love tho

I sent the wrong reply out! My apolgies.

The thing is the decompression for top tier. Isnt they arent seperating at all, all thats happening is a buff to the aforementioned tanks.

Thus rendering the challanger 2 completely obsolete to play other than looks.

The arrietes combo of smaller size, better round. Reload and mobility means the Chally 2e is pretty obsolete.

The challanger 3 lacks all mobility and any relevant armour same as the rest. But at least has a better round

but can also get ammo racked from the front thanks to the wide mantlet, and ammo racked from the sides as there’s no blowout panels

thats because they claim its the tech demo, when in reality its a mixture of what is to be the challanger 3 and the tech demonstrator. its an absolute insult to the challanger 2 tanks man.

they were difficult as it was before hand, now objectively there is no point in playing them at all compared to even the merkavas, arietes, or any other minor nation MBT.

I somewhat agree a bit more effort and impetus balancing the whole of ground would be a lot better than just increasing the gap between modern and cold war

i mean lets be honest. moving everything up like this gives a slight piece of breathing room but does absolutely 0 to change the fact that these tanks are modelled incorrectly and are not worthy of the same BR, that was teh whole point in the BR system, so something like say a leo2a7 could sit at 13.0 with the sepv3, BVMs and T90Ms etc etc, while the older versions e.g 2a5s challanger 2s etc could sit in their own bracket as well.

the compression runs far too deep but

the primary problem with the challenger 2 as its got the slowest playstyle unlike ariete and merkava with poorly done armour not compensating for it

Exaclty man, one of the most survivable tanks made and its armour cant stop a bm42 round.

Its.calling card and it cant use it

Not too mention the sheer number of nerfs.

4 round ready rack compared to most nations having more like 15 rounds and for the longest time, we had the fastest fire rate to compensate for all our other issues. The tanks the CR2 now faces not only have an equal if not faster fire rate (if CR2 is out of ready rack rounds) but they are a LOT stronger. And yet the CR2 has only gotten weaker.

Id have no issue with being a defensive long range sniper, but in that role. We are also one of the weakest. Massive weakspot even when hulldown, sub par fire rate and subpar shell.

We need a reasonable ready rack, a 4 second ready rack fire rate, gun breach being fixed and hopefully we’ll get access to these new building things they were proposing. Digging ourselves a bunker could be fun

Is anyone else geting the bug on the CR2 BN where the APS is triggering on AP rounds?

I mean, it is supposed to. It reaches up to 1700m/s. >1km it has a chance to weaken or intercept darts

Oh cool thanks, i knew this was a feature when the BN first released and it was then removed. I thought it was a bug that it was back in some capacity

Kinda usless considering the rounds either gonne be hitting your cheak or your breach. so it was gonna kill you or do nothing anyway.
