Guys why dont we model lap loading? Its standard Challenger 2 loading practice to lap load. Will give us faster reload time.

because gaijin doesnt model 3 ammuniton racks, just ready-rack and non-ready rack

and i don’t think its particularly high on their list of things to do unfortunately

But if they did? I mean its not that much of a difference is it? Just faster reload. Yeh theres like injury and stuff and dropping it but still faster.

if they modelled 3 ammunition racks i can see them modelling lap loading on a case-by-case basis (muh “balance”)

But until then, we can’t get it even if we wanted

We can just pretend the 3rd piece doesnt exist and just model it anyway.

im not mentioning the 3 piece ammunition

Im saying they if they modelled 3 racks

being

[Lap] [Ready-Rack] [Else]

rather than the current

[Ready-Rack] [Else]

Do we even know that they don’t? As you say the only difference is reload time, so how do you know where the line gets drawn between lap loading and a not?

iirc they’ve said they don’t before

Just like our ready racks. They’d probably add it to other nations, probably the US, and not us, and require extensive primary sources to get added, just for Gaijin to say no for some made up reason

Theres ur primary source

Sounds like a marketing lie :P

Not possible in game so not possible in real life

I don’t know what this is exactly (and same for lap loading), but AFAIK, doesn’t gaijin also implemented “semi ready racks” on this like the PZH2000 with the first few shells being reloaded faster and then the rest of the rack loads slower (compared to normal ready racks where the round have to be loaded in the rack before being able to load them in the gun) ?
Wouldn’t that help “lap” loading ?

First 3 round are already in the autloading mechanism/near the feed to the autloader

gaijin models this as to meet the “Burst” fire mode of modern artillery (in teh case of the PzH 2K and AS90, 3 rounds in 10 seconds (5s reload))

IRL i dont think there is any concrete figure for “Lap loading” speeds, just videos at best, which gaijin don’t tend to like for reload speeds

@Flame2512 do we know the width of the CHARM 3 penetrator? And would it be actually useful to know?

@FlyingOstridge @DevilO6

I dont remember.

26mm IIRC according to the reports used for showing L27 had the ability to defeat T-80U with K-5.

(Reports that Gaijin Devs decided to ignore for …reasons which have absolutely nothing to do with their time-honoured inability to accept NATO sources that don’t agree with their Russo-centric worldview.)

Can u send or show these reports? The only one i seen is where it says “CHARM 3 exceeds the Single Shot Kill Probability required by SR(L) 4026 against T-80U with KE sensitive Explosive Reactive Armour.”

I know the XL27 development round was 26mm but they made changes and then there was a science report stating it was 25mm in 2001. So just wondering if we had anything actually confirming if it was 26 or 25mm.
