Smin just forwarded my explanation of it with tests of dart and how i believe that L27, due to its break away tip, can infact penetrate the T80U assuming L27 can pen the T80U without K5 without its breakaway tip
Simple explanation is that the plates when being launched or away from the apfsds do different things but the only one that can damage the round itself is the co flying plate (one that flies with the apfsds) and likely would snap off the nose
the 2nd layer does not seem to have the co flying plate only counter flying which just deforms it at most but due to the use of DU and length of the round it likely is not affected too much
But the co flying plate is why usually penetrators like DM33 would fail as they would be broken at the nose and so would not have the ability to penetrate the rest of the hull
There is a source to this but i cba to post all the images

Against 3BM40 which none of the top tier tanks use and even the 11.7 premiums are not using Mango.
So while yes it’s good the subsequent addition of the floating floor and no mobility improvements do not really change the game.
It is getting a little bit silly, they need to stop asking for actual sources of in service things which no one has access to. No we don’t have Aim120D loft data, no we don’t have SEP V3 new armour layout and no we don’t have Bundeswehr and British footage of testing rounds.
The bottom comment as if the devs are actually mechanical engineers, and understand how these systems work. It was the same with the bloody Typhoon, Russian jets can’t do it so no way a European one can. I feel for the US mains when the F-22 is added meanwhile the Su-57 gets a PowerPoint page done by a 10 year old taken as a source.

What is Gaijins excuse for the historical accuracy of the mantlet, in that it prevents engineers getting hooks in to lift the turret off the hull?

Its not them asking for info that bothers me; It’s the blatant disregard to the fact that the information is classified; and them refusing any other sources. I could provide 2-3 documents that allow us to put 2 and 2 together to come to a conclusion about what the classified info really say without revealing it, but that’s not enough for the devs, so it doesn’t fix anything.

the challenger 2 breeches being located too high is a known issue
Honestly, I don’t think we should get our hopes up with these guys. The best thing to do is clear our heads and just play on autopilot.

PD: The video says T-90, but it’s actually the T-64, which is infinitely more embarrassing.
That’s what I mean no one can legally provide the information they want. The standards are impossible and they know that so they use it as a tool to shut down discussion. Oh do you not have the actual personal test book from the Chief Typhoon pilot…Well we really do need that, the information you have provided is just not good enough.

I’m just poking fun that if they don’t even bother fixing how the thing looks and that’s easily provable why would they care to fix something that needs actual documentation. They have no intention of buffing the vehicle, Challenger is only in the game so Russians can blow it up.

Meanwhile Gaijin:
What do you mean that Relikt ERA doesnt provide enough protection. We shall fix that immediately, no no, we dont need any sources, we beleive you

What does a Russian do after destroying a CR2…
Turns off their PC

a fantasy power trip given its record and the ancient lore around the vehicle before the conflict that shall not be mentioned - before that it was known to have not been destroyed, and to be one of if not the most impressive nato tank armour wise. Now the russians get to play out their power trip in a game by blowing it up.

100%, it’s absolutely cooked how bias this game has become at top tier. They’ve stopped trying to hide it. Historical accuracy is non existent.

7 updates. 7 updates in a row is how many Russia have been given a post 2020 vehicle. meanwhile we have Ajax, Sky Sabre and (arguably) Challenger 3 (TD). Other nations have even less.
The amount of times I’ve fired into a lower plate of a T-80, penetrated, done absolutely zero meaningful damage, to then get nuked in one shot is past the point of frustration and I just find it funny now

For me it’s the gun breach, I poke a hill for a second and immediately I am stuck repairing and my commander is dead. It’s just a joke, sniped through a gaping hole by a Soviet tank that didn’t even have thermals irl.

The Challengers are riddled with modelling errors.
This would be somewhat understandable if they were new models, but no, these models have been in the game for years and still aren’t fixed.

An example is that the frontal hull model is incorrect, the “lines” on the UFP should not be angled inwards, they should go be parallel to the hull sides.

You can even see this on the DM.

gonna have a harder time with the new T90 arena. They put kontact 5 on the lower front plate below the drivers feet, just to stop that.
The ERA there is just Kontact 1, not Kontact 5.
It provides basically no KE resistance.
