Do you have a date on when the T-80U was procured? I’m reading 1992 myself. Sounds more to me that you’re drawing assumptions on information you don’t have.
According to the developers the document that authorized the export of the T-80U was from December 1992. Months after the 1992 report was already made.
Great. Can they show us that document? Because if the export was authorised December 1992 it most certainly would not have arrived in 1992 as UK sources state. Particularly because it was ordered under a shell company which makes transport more challenging, but also because the timeline from authorisation to the vehicle being sent is never that short.
Regardless of CHARM 3. Its prototype XL27 was only 20mm maximum off the 700mm penetration requirement. Meaning if we use the CHARM 3 prototype it still far greater than what we have in game. We know that its prototype is 5.2kg, 605mm long, and 26mm in diameter with a muzzle velocity of 1585m/s with a penetration value at minimum of 678mm. For this prototype to reach its 700mm requirement, it was given a lighter rod, but using a stronger material and better propellant Rowanite 307 which would bring the muzzle velocity upto 1600/ms. We also know as of 2001, the diameter of the rod is 25mm, so was reduced by 1mm since its prototype. “ The material was supplied by BAe Systems (Royal Ordnance Speciality Metals) in the form of 25 mm diameter discs, 0.5 mm in thickness, cut from whole CHARM 3 penetrators.”
So the evidence and application of common sense shows that modern CHARM 3 after its recorded prototype enhancements, would be able to pen the 700mm like the documents say it has achieved.
Additionally, regardless of modern CHARM 3 its prototype, XL27, has a penetration far greater than what we have in game so allow us the prototype penetration atleast.
We shouldnt have to provide 100% exact info for its penetration. We know the in game value is lower than what it should be. The in game value should be changed to its IRL prototype values at minimum.
Why dont the devs provide their source cor their information/claim of 311mm at 2000m at 6o degrees,
You shouldn’t be shooting relikt at all anyway? I don’t understand what the obsession here is with relikt being untouchabkle by 10.7s, it already was anyway. Shoot under it.
