if it doesnt get at the bare minimum spall liners im done
This is an internal operational video of the Challenger 1 (showing only floor rotation). You can clearly see that there is no relationship between the floor rotation and the turret rotation. Therefore, it is seriously incorrect to associate the floor with directional controls at present. Feel free to use this video to submit your report.

Have they fixed the mantlet (to some degree)?
From this video, we can see that dropshipping loading is not affected by floor rotation.
Tag me in any reports made for the CR2 / L27A1 this update and i’ll add them to the list

Leopard 2s.
amazing. so now if the ammo (magically) doesn’t detonate from a LFP shot, you’ll still have no turret drive and no engine. just as the snail intended.
so the mantlet doesn’t look like it’s any better, but now a round going through it will be guaranteed to destroy electronics and FCS. We get a detailed damage model but none of the missing spall liners.
CR3 (TD) will also lose either FCS or both modules, if you don’t explode from the mantlet penetration.
i think the bigger issue will be the fire control module thats been added, part of it is in the unarmoured section at the back of the turret where overpressure and autocannons will easily knock it out
I have no words…
Guys, I would just like to say that just because something is labelled as FCS that does not mean that it will disable gun aiming or stabilisation when hit.
Currently the FCS appears to have zero effect when damaged, you can see by hovering over it in the X-Ray view and it will show it has zero impact when destroyed. This could change, but currently the FCS being hit should do literally nothing.
Take a look at the Leopard 2A4 on the live server, it has a FCS modules everywhere in the turret, destroying them does nothing, it’s purely a visual addition.
Secondly, the mantlet armour has been improved, that is for certain. Gaijin, as I predicted, has updated the mantlet to have a proper trunnion model.
This has improved the entire lower part of the mantlet to around 450-470mm, before this was barely over 300mm. The mantlet armour is still underperforming, but it is undeniably better than before.
They have expanded the rotor pins, which gives both better armour coverage and thickness, just as one notable change.
In conclusion:
- The mantlet has notably better protection now, even though it is underperforming still.
- The FCS modules do nothing, unless something changes do not worry about them.
- The turret “basket” model is a nerf, but it is MUCH less impactful than most turret baskets ingame due to it’s small size.
- L27A1 is likely reciving a buff to it’s anti-ERA properties soon.
I sure hope you are right, because I’m tired of this warm yellow rain.
i dont like the challengers being pissed on with a turret basket im hoping we get a ready rack and spall liners soon
FCS does on NATO vehicles and IFVs
It is only Russian tanks that the module does nothing
I see what you mean, gaijin aren’t always the nicest.
I would also like to note, the Challenger 1’s had FCS modules on the dev server, however, they were deleted before the tank ever went to live.
That thing is so tiny it makes even less sense that its supposed to block the turret rotation when deformed but a gigantic autoloader carousel is not
Usually when FCS modules do something when disabled the effect is directly listed.
There may be exceptions, but currently the CR2 FCS has nothing listed, so in theory it shouldn’t do anything when destroyed.
rebooting dev and i’ll edit if i’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure that the significant armour dropoff either side of the gun, where the holes in the trunnion are, are still present?
That was always there

Above is the old trunnion, note the circular holes where the trunnion pins should be.

Here is the new trunnion, note how the holes have been filled.
Previously the part perpendicular with the circular holes was weak as it was missing armour, now those holes have been filled in, providing overall better protection. Also, the old trunnion did not work properly in terms of volumetric armour interactions, this new trunnion does.
When I go back on live I will try and explain more, but overall this is a buff, even if it is still weaker than it should be.
ahhh I see, I would have expected whatever fits into those cutouts to have also been addressed, hopefully the trunnion fix takes enough energy out of the darts to reduce spalling, for what little that will do to help.
