Challenger 2 MBT - Technical data and Discussion (Part 2)

Does the C2 Black Night’s Iron Fist APS have its Soft-Kill feature in game? Its supposed to have a soft-kill feature in addition to its hard-kill feature to stop laser/wired ATGMs.

Not quite, BN lacks jamming module, just like it did irl.

Actually, they have made the composite armor skirt position, but they just won’t send it

Black Night’s soft kill capability was from smoke dischargers used in conjunction with the ELAWS and radar modules.
Neither the over-barrel version, or the side-mounted version of the active jammer/laser dazzler module for Iron Fist were present on the demonstrator.

Didn’t realise the Iron Fist had a DIRCM laser on it. I always thought that was a problem on hard-kill systems but glad someone had already designed a system before I thought of it

People my hate Israel but you can’t deny they have some excellent engineers all around the world

Only 2 years old lol

Im a bit confused about what the photos prove

Slightly more critically even if it did, adding a laser jammer on a tank would be absolutely catastrophic (CAS can’t get free kills on it). Gaijin would never do it lol

Especially MiG 27Ks when the APS charges are finished, or the Vikhrs or most other laser missiles

So the Meteo sensor mast has been missing for two years+ now. I’m still very upset about this.

How ?? It shows the ASPRO-HMT ERA removed showing the 200mm VAMAR composite block’s confirming that it side hull add-on armour kit is 3 layers and not just 1 are 2 layers.

1st layer - 40/80mm RHA Backplate

2nd layer - 200mm VAMAR Composite block

3rd layer - ASPRO-HMT ERA which is attached onto the 200mm VAMAR compose block’s.

Are these not just photos of two different Challenger 2 variants?

One being the 2F and one being the TES

I’m not saying you’re wrong I just want to make sure it isn’t that

So the first 3 imagines are from the same 2009 deployment to Iraq and the last 2 is from bovington tank museum tank Fest. And they are using TES (Theater Entry Standard) kit and one challenger 2 has it’s ASPRO-HMT ERA removed. Which shows the 200mm thick VAMAR composite block’s underneath !!
