For clarity this is where we are on it right now;
Material and thickness are the two core claims here, and right now they’re not evidenced strongly enough for me to forward.
Material: You’re leaning on captions/wording (“steel baseplate”, “massive steel baseplate”) which are secondary descriptions, and it’s basically one line of evidence. That may be enough to challenge “40mm aluminium”, but it does not justify the jump to “RHA/HHA/composite” (those aren’t interchangeable). If the claim is “not aluminium” then say that and support it. If the claim is “armour-grade steel / RHA-equivalent”, you need a source that actually states that.
Thickness: At the moment the thickness argument is mostly eyeballing photos + weight inference. Photos aren’t a reliable thickness measure, and the weight delta could be distributed across multiple components (modules, frames, brackets etc.), not necessarily a uniform 80mm plate. If you want to claim “80mm”, you need something like a specification, measured dimension, or a credible technical reference giving an actual figure (or at least a bounded range with justification).
I would suggest at first to focus on material type then move on to thickness.

I’d say there’s a big two, China and USSR.
Germany and USA are getting bent over way too often to be a “main nation”, USA has no CAS right now, Germany is fine on high tiers, but gaijin ignores all of the inaccuracy posts. The only good stuff those two have on other tiers is cancer and premium assisting lineups.
As a Britain and Italy main, I don’t care about USA, Germany mains’ wellbeing, I want a balanced game where everyone has a funny boomstick, both “unique” and “copy-paste”.
Its a rarity that US isnt good in cas for once.
Germany fine at high Tiers. Ehh lower side of fine.
German premiumy arent that special. Only thing people realy complain about is the turms?
Nothing compared to other nations like russia
The mains ones I see are really just Turm 3 and almost all other Rank 5+ premiums are pretty balanced
The Terminator is the most recent in ultimate in premium but especially Russian Bias. People like to defend Russia by saying that it is very nerfed and yeah that is correct but pretty much only in air battles. Russia has some of the best CAS in the game at most tiers, the main cancer being the Yak 9s and the users of Kh 38 but even standard Vikhr users.
BVVD has made it clear he really only focuses on ground for Russia, that is where most Bias is seen for all nations, good, bad, premium or not. That is a big money maker and a big place to spread propaganda if wanted.
The fact russia can just buy a whole high tier line up, not just with 1 but 2 light premiums. Not even counting squadrons. While most nations are lacking any light tier premium
Heck germany has one of the biggest ground developments. But u dont see anytjing of it

Germany hell can buy 2 leopard 2a4Ms a 2a4 as well as buy teh cas options.
USA is actually lacking in top tier prems funnily enough u got 2 abrams and then the M1 abrams which is substantially worse at higher BRs than the 2A4 though u do get teh RDF/LT.
Sweden well I’ve got a 10.3 lineup whihc is all premiums, 1 is 9.3 lol.

Leopard 1 is good? Go back to 2022. It’s hard to find any tank that is much worse than Leo at 8.0-9.0. Leopard is mid, just a worse OF-40.

I mean you can in most trees buy enough premiuns to make a lineup? no one specified it had to be ground vehicles only.
Even then for the USSR tree, the T72AV sucks, the T80UD (is under BR’d so it should be 10.7) and then 2 lights one of which is likely to move up even further the other is the 2S38 which is neither here nor there.
Could do with some touching up to its ammo capacities, say 42 darts or 22 or some nonsense .

i’d argue the Vickers Mk.1 is better
its close but the leopard beats it out in mobility and survivability overall.
Funnily enough it’s turret is beyond trolly even compared to vickers.
optics are better as well on leopard.
Though teh reload is substantially worse 6.5 aced VS 5 on the vickers.

The Leo also lacks a stabiliser, which is a key benefit of the Vickers Mk.1
The Vickers still has its incorrect top speed, it should be around 52-56kph, rather than 48kph

35mph (56kph) is a figure for the Vickers Mk.2 though
The one I have for the “Vickers 37 ton tank” states 50.6kph in the gear ratios and 35mph (56kph) in the maximum road speed.
