because its an easy reskin of a prem that already exists, no need to spend time on modelling, stats, bug reports, etc. for a new vehicle. same as the other 5 senrai packs. the OES costs 70 so this version of it does as well.
personally having these be like, some kind of upgrade to an existing tank would be nicer and more affordable imo
Alas, I would post my other idea as to what to call it but fine.
Lamentably it would appear that some on the forum get rather flag/report happy. VERY flag happy. I suppose I’ll keep my thoughts to my self. Still, the paint job…
It’s a bit garish.
Seems that’s the way they sell, I suppose.
Albeit.
Peruse what I’ve written. Really you can say what you think of things. Although you have to format them a certain way. Truly artful if I don’t say so myself…
All 6 of these packs are just reskins of whatever 11.7/12.0 premium tank each tree already has
The purpose of these 3 new premiums is just to expand the number of trees that have an anime edition of their top premium tank.
It’s not getting in the way of any unique new tank being added, and no unique vehicle that would otherwise be unobtainable as a “normal” historical vehicle has been tainted by slapping an anime skin on it.
They are what they are, and what the last 3 were: easy reskins to get a bit of dosh out of people who are interested in this kind of thing.
I’m just glad they are giving one to everyone, rather than selectively giving them to certain nations. I’d rather they didn’t exist, but if they do, at least everyone gets one.
I think it’s something to do with the Japanese and anime communities and trying to attract them to the game, such as the G&P ((Girls und Panzer)) crowd. Gaijin didn’t do G&P because War Gaming already did I assume, so they made their own. It wouldn’t surprise me if they tried to make their own anime similar to G&P in the future based on the characters to pull even more attention to it, maybe even a “spin off” of G&P given they get permission.
I understand their reasoning; the other tank game did it and it worked out well for them, and considering how little effort it really takes; and the money they could make, why not in their eyes? - However, with War Thunder pushing more towards realism it does feel a bit awkward.
If I had it my way, I’d want Gaijin to increase the age rating of the game and add full on CoD: World at War levels of gibbing for exposed crews hit by HE, but it’ll never happen. The game is rated 13+ and in theory, it could be argued this is aimed at the younger players cause cartoons. However weeb know that’s not the case.
I fully agree with this, Gaijin is definitely doing it to try and attract a bigger userbase.
I also wish WT had WaW levels of gibbing. If I sent a 88mm HE Shell into a Su-57 the crew shouldn’t just vanish.
I assume they did this initially for foreign censorship laws (namely China) but also probably because:
Gaijin is lazy
The Servers couldn’t handle the load from simulating all those pieces.
Jokes aside, I’d like the game to be a higher rating; as they would be allowed to get away with a lot more content wise if it were. Lets be honest, a 120mm APFSDS to the face is gonna do a lot more than make the gunner unconscious. I mean, technically he is unconscious, but I think that’s the least of his issues.
The testing and development CR2 is/was named Megatron, All the best pictures of the OES kit are of Megatron so I guess gaijin named the ingame tank after it during development
