Challenger 2 MBT - Technical data and Discussion (Part 2)

India also doesnt use the BUK M3…
So we would have a worse version of it too.

I dont find that to be remotely true.
You used to be able to now though MBTs just eat them

The vehicles in the british trees from other nations are literally: You will get diluted down versions of what everyone else gets and be happy about it.

Who won?

Yamato, of course) You can’t penetrate normally it at this distance.
But it was quite funny to watch the shells of his main caliber evaporate right in front of the tank)

ive spent far too long in test drive finding the spots to do it, some are such a pain in the ass its basically impossible (the abrams for no reason lol). but the leo is quite nice, especially as its accessible from the front. Its a little difficult to hit but you have 16 atgms and theres no point in keeping any if your getting rushed so its more a nice trick to keep in my back pocket. On average it takes about 5-6 for a leo, maybe less if im lucky.

I was looking at making a bug report about the ready rack with the CR1/2’s, given how it was accepted 2 years back, and they still haven’t fixed it.
In search of info I found interior photo’s of the CR2, clearly displaying the interior, showing the ready rack and the rest of the interior, I thought it would of been classified still, just want to double check with some of you more knowledgable about this sort of thing.

This?

Basically yes, although the ones I found were at a different angle, that by the look of the photo provided seems to all be from the same collection of photos, wasn’t sure if it was classified or not still, as to my knowledge I thought the CR2’s interior was classified.

I ended up doing some other research about the Challenger 2 In-game, and found that the Challenger 2’s should probably use L26 as their stock round, given every other tank around 11.7-12.0’s stock/first APFSDS round pen is around the same of the L26, and even some tanks like the Leo 2A4 (10.7) using the same cannon as the Leo 2A5 (12.0), but the Leo 2A5, doesn’t require using the same rounds that the 2A4 does, even though its the same cannon. But for some reason, the Challenger 2’s don’t have that benefit, and keep the weaker APFSDS round’s all the way till 12.0

Just decided to make a post about it, if you want to check it out:

Given we are one of the few that never had to deal with HEAT stock I think we should just be fortunate they didn’t decide to give us HESH stock instead we do have APFSDS stock, it might be weak, but its better than the alternatives and out of all the issues the CR2 has, stock loadouts probably aren’t the one to worry about at the moment and instead fight for more universal stock grind changes like moving L27A1 and other T4 shells to T3

Well for 12.0 at least I think they should make L26 the stock round, given other 12.0 vehicles do get APFSDS stock. I’ve also been thinking about that specific issue of L27A1 being moved to T3 aswell recently. I still feel I should at least mention it, but yeah I know its one of the smaller issues, as can be seen by the Challenger 2’s current state ingame.

TBH I would rather have to only use L26 at 12.0 but with a 28rd. ready rack than what we have currently.

Would rather they dropped all the CR2s down to 11.3-11.7. None of them should be top tier.

The round the armour, mobility all of it is substandard. Britains top tier ground line up needs a massive injection of something that isn’t just crap.

If they don’t fix the Challengers, there’s no reason for them to be 11.7/12.0. 11.3 seems much more fair

We could get the Loggim. Which is just the production “version” of the TTD, so it would get equal armour to the Leo 2A5 and M1A1 (I think the HC to be specific), similar round to that on the Merkava Mk.3s, Gen 2 thermals for both Commander and Gunner, spall liner, 4-5 second reload. Most of the listed above is already claimed to be in the real TTD, with exception to the Commander thermals.
The Loggim would be very balanced and would provide a non C&P Leopard type vehicle to Britain than just adding some coolie adding Indian vehicles that are just C&P of Russian vehicles

Would it use the same 1200hp engine, its my only gripe. The acceleration is horrendous, same as on the type 10. Its as if gaijin think 1200hp is a drop in the bucket compared to 1500. The torque alone should accelerate it up to speed fairly quickly.

I think it would get but in terms of the acceleration, I recommend you try neutral steer with the TTD and you’ll see that Gaijin didn’t even give it a gearbox. Read the article of it on tank encyclopaedia and you’ll see that the gearing is more fucked than the BMP 3’s. I’m gonna make a forum soon pointing out all the inaccuracies of South African vehicles and the TTD seems to have the longest list of problems
