Challenger 2 MBT - Technical data and Discussion (Part 2)

What about this:

06SP95/V9 was used as the prototype for Oman’s Challenger 2s - hence the longer skirts and the prototype high-elevation anti-aircraft MG mount.
Apparently it’s the one that’s now on display outside a museum in Newcasle with a civil registration “MH 14 MB” and mocked up in normal British Army camo and skirts. But it’s clear it went on to have further hull modifications the same as Omani CR2s, for the air-conditioner vents on the side and enhanced engine cooling system at the rear.

Only some of the prototypes used them, none of the production examples afaik

So then we should get a Chally 2 prototype, could be a nice event reward

if they did a prototype Challenger 2 is absolutely has to be Streetfighter 2 or the RH 130mm one.

Is this the one with mockup brimstones?

I can’t see it being added then. Is there a Streetfighter 1?

if not that, the Rheinmetal Challenger 2 130mm gun experiment.

Yes

I wanna see my challangers buffed a little

AND GIVE MY CHIEFTAIN ITS LRF xd and L15A5 why that round isnt even on the CR1 models is frustrating

Well! they fixed the gun mantlet’s dust cover on all the challenger 2’s now. so that’s good at least! now we just need;

-The meteo sensor mast to be up
-The crusader skin to be fixed
-Correct modelling of the suspension
-Correct modelling of the braking
-Driver hatch on the destroyed model to be fixed
-Maybe the turret side armour being able to be blown off under heavy fire, like the leopard turret cheeks, as seen in fig.1?
-Long side skirts would be a nice option.
-BRING BACK THE DOZER BLADE! (fig.2 + fig.3)
-More berlin brigade camo’s? (not just for the Chally’s but for Chieftain too and some other vehicles)
+more I’m sure I haven’t thought of.

I’d love to have the dozer plade, I cannot think of why they even removed it

They just blue balled us with it when never added it

Anyone know if the TES could mount a dozer blade of sorts? I dont like them on naked tanks but big chonkas just make them fit so well.

I don’t see why it couldn’t fit it!

(yes I know these are 2f composite, not TES ERA)

The KFOR mod is a pretty good mix of useful armour and not too much weight, i’d like to see it ingame

I really want a CR2 with a dozer blade

honestly I wish they would do additional armour packages as a drop down list that you can select before you enter a battle, that way you unlock the “additional armour” modification and it allows you to select between multiple armour configs, for example

Challenger 2 =
-Standard Skirts-
-Standard Skirts with Dozer-
-Long Skirts-
-Long Skirts with dozer-
-2f composite package-
-2f composite package with dozer-
-KFOR Armor package-

etc, and let the player choose which armour configuration they want to roll with in the game based on the map you are playing on. I put it as a suggestion to have a button that allows you to add or remove modifications on your tank while in a game, because realistically a crew would know the environment they will be operating in and will configure their vehicle accordingly, but in WT currently you don’t get that choice, and this should refer to armour packages as well as chained tyres, Winterketten and other modifications to the vehicle, like folding side skirts and camo nets etc; but realistically I think having a dropdown menu that lets you choose which armour package you want would be more interesting and would allow gaijin to add more armour compliments to vehicles, rather than adding whole new vehicles. The add on armour for the most part with nato vehicles doesnt usually change their BR as seen by the fact that all the challenger 2’s are the SAME br except the ones with radical modifications, ie, BK and 2E, so they could in theory change the challenger 2’s and call them by their year, ie, Challenger 2 (2000), Challenger 2 (2005), Challenger 2 (2015) etc, and give them all the armour packages that would have been available to them in those time periods, for example, as seen above. if their BR isnt dictated by their armour package, this would be a fun way to add some interesting differences to the challenger 2’s, AND would make each one a little unique as each player in a match may set up their vehicle differently depending on what they will be doing.
