Challenger 2 MBT - Technical data and Discussion (Part 1)

I’ve not done a huge amount of research on the LFP armor, but I’ve got to assume a brick of that size, combined with the hulls armor must be a whole lot more protective than that. It’s a brick of Chobham right?

Yes, and i will show you something even funnier, gimme a sec

You worry me lol

Chobham block

Romor A era blocks

2F at its finest, also shows how much Chobham is worth

Yeaah, I saw this one coming LMAO
Jesus christ. Thats just lazy.

Well, who needs to model a giant block of armor to have armor, not me :)

And did you known TES has mine protection?

It’s dreadful that these changes are less than a full days work for a single developer, yet have been in the game, dragging CR2 to the absolute bottom for years.
Insane.

Makes sense, most of the kit on the TES is IED and mine defence

I also wonder if they will add functions to the jamming station on 2F and TES. While its main usage is to jam remote explosives, ingame it could disupt early ATGMs

Also 2E got Exterior, engine, radiator and transmission model change, but armor and fuel tanks did not needed it.

Noticed this, 2E definitely looks pretty cool now.
Just wish they’d give us functional changes lol

Once i first saw new booty i hated it, but over the dev serv it grew on me.

Last update Iron Fist started intercepting APFSDS, so while it is only one chally, it is still a great change and it saved me a few times.

I think it’s done that for a while, possibly circa sky guardians?
It depends on the velocity of the APFSDS though, so faster rounds’ll still hit iirc

I have not felt it any way in star guardians, but since la royale launchers started reacting at APFSDS and catching them. It can intercept any from over 1km away, but for top ones it will not defeat them, just weaken

The turret side bricks should be NERA on TES and 2F like it is currently. Megatron had ERA placed on top of the turret side bricks.

The massive blocks on the TES are ERA but how it’s implemented is incorrect. It’s not one massive block. It’s multiple blocks housed with in that metal casing. The actual layout should look similar to that on the abrams sep package. It’s also not just a ERA from what I gather from looking up stuff over the years. It’s ERA and NERA within each block. It’s funny they can model the individual ERA in the bags on the side of the T series tanks which don’t seem to ever fall off when hit either. But they can’t do they same for the TES.

The only explanation to that is they decided not to do so due to resources. UK is expected to bring less revenue, so less i spent

its actually not a 50mm RHa plate, although it’s definitely not a cavity because it uses the higher tensile strength bolts: This is the composition:
5mm Structural Steel + 25mm HHRa, + 20mm Kevlar.
The 25mm HHRa plate is the same one featured on older variants.
