Challenger 2 MBT - Technical data and Discussion (Part 1)

Doesnt really mean much imo as its not painting a clear picture. Still gonna wait and see how it comes out on live (or next dev server if there is one)

well it gives us the idea that they think to addon plate on ufp is only 25mm

Most of that looks like huge nerfs lol

i know… that part on the turret ring scares me a bit

Well we don’t really know we will see when it comes to the live

So, what they want is that in close distance battles crew can be knocked out with a machine gun. maybe even with 7.62 ones :D they may even model the commander that is looking out of the turret with binoculars :D

These are the same changes that were viewable when the dev was open to the public, dev hasn’t changed versions from .28

Ok thank you

400?

not sure, these were posted on reddit a few hours ago.

theres also this:

  • Challenger 2 :
    • Part of hull front : 10 → 20 mm
    • Added Part of Dozer Support to DM as 25 mm Structural Steel
    • Commander Hatch Viewports : Aluminium → CHA
    • Added Metal support under turret rear to DM as 3 mm Rubber-fabric screens

Again its just a datamine of the .28 version which was public. Everyone has poured through these changes above.

Same as what I saw a few days ago, and many incorrect parts have already been reported by Fireball

My happiness bit about this is that the dozer might make a come back

I just hope it’s the 25mm UFP, and that it’s there for every CR2/3 xD (should be 45-50, but anything is welcome)

i mean theres also rumours that is composite and at the end it could get the 25mm rha equivalent anyway.

No the vertical guidance value for the Cr2 is based on the gun drive specification from Janes. The CR1 and Chief 10 are higher because they are based on a maximum values for the FCS.

Thats L27?

Either way that would be a buff in terms of weight which would help greatly with spalling
