Yep, I cross them off when they are added/fixed. I couldnt be bothered to go through them all add the passed to devs tag to them. Though I may if/when I get round to de-designing the layout.

Challenger 2 Black Night, if im not wrong, use PASEO.

Spoiler

As you can see, it mentions that the optical zoom is indeed 8x, but there are also different presets, depending on the FOV, which this brochure doesn’t mention unfortunately.

Additionally, here is a video of an EBRC Jaguar, which should use PASEO as well for its Commander Sight.
As you can see, its a fully digital interface- whatever the daylight channel see, the thermal imager should as well.

As a proof of that, we can take a look at this other brochure of PASEO:

Spoiler

Indeed, as you can see both daylight channel and thermal imager share a very similar zoom value, however it is expressed in degrees, which it doesn’t matter in that case since it proves that the zoom is indeed variable.

As another example that can be seen here, from an EBRC Jaguar-

Spoiler

Those people are standing right outside the vehicle, yet PASEO can still see them, which is unlikely with an 8x fixed zoom, it must have been pretty zoomed out.

Also, here is a promotional video from SAFRAN, which worked on PASEO- it can be seen an extract of PASEO fully zoomed out it seems.

Spoiler

Considering that, i think it would be wrong to add a fixed zoom to the Black Night CITV, a vehicle shouldn’t get penalized for using one of the most advanced optics around the world.

Bug report time for the dev server then?

Unfortunately though other brochures for PASEO do describe the colour HDTV daysight as having fixed zoom/fov (albeit with three options available) and other sights in the brochure that make mention of with “continuous motionless zoom” for such daysights say explicitly that it is digital zoom, not optical

Hey,

From this brochure, which is specifically for PASEO it is mentioned that the continous zoom is in fact present for the HDTV daysight.

Spoiler

Additionally, if we take a look at the thermal imager minium continous zoon and multiply it with the value of the supposely fixed zoom, we end up with 8x. albeit this doesn’t mean much, but it seems like the optical 8x limitation is solely for the night channel.

We cannot be fully sure of that, but we can surely deduct the zoom should be variable and not a fixed 8x then.

I also edited the my original post quite a bit, adding more informations.
This was my though process, however i would appreciate other options from people here.

i’d like to point out the remodel has fixed the neck issue, the volumetric turret casting now results in correct protection where it’s chin overlaps with the hull, this still leaves the drivers hatch and drivers port as weakspots however the upper area has reasonable protection now.

how about this

I don’t know if this is right, but I found that the height ratio of the new mantlet is not quite right
