They are always there, just covered in paint

if they model the thing right i can see the mantlet will stop being a big issue.

less than a month for dev blogs and such.

So the challenger’s mantlet has a maximum KE of 611

This picture is what I think is the lowest value

yes but on the green zone its gona have a round pin. that can send apfsds bouncing if its not dead on center.

also the green zones could be filled with air and it still would be 100 times better than what we have right now

you know what? 90M has rotor

@DevilO6 @Fireball_2020

yes but the challengers were modeled by an intern working on weekends

not 100% sure where your values come from. the top 1/2 will have:
116mm(1.0) + 30mm(1.0) + 400mm(0.98) + 50mm(1.0)
bottom 1/3 will have:
116mm(1.0) + 10mm(1.0) + 30mm(1.0) + 400mm(0.98) + 50mm(1.0)
however the front triangle is as we know angled, this reduces its protection vs APFSDS to 103mm.
so:
103mm(1.0) + 30mm(1.0) + 400mm(0.98) + 50mm(1.0) = 575 KE
103mm(1.0) + 10mm(1.0) + 30mm(1.0) + 400mm(0.98) + 50mm(1.0) = 585 KE

this doesnt account for the rotor pin situation

It’s 70mm, we know the mantlet’s angle is 53 degrees.

Why does it look so dirty? Is there still a layer of armor outside?

this one may be missing the envelopes i cant quite tell
