Can you link me to the report for this please, then I can see whats going on.
so wait, I’m confused now like.
it should only get STANAG 5 protection in a 30 degree frontal arc in relation to the vehicle and not the armour pack?
why would the era be tested this way if its going to be placed as side armour?
Just to reiterate what the inside of the side blocks should look like? As it shares the same mounting positions as seen by the bolts on armour shield R
Yes. The devs are suggesting the centreline is the vehicles centerline, not the bricks.
We don’t know the testing parameters to determine properly.
This is just relation to the vehicle not in relation armour packages. Same source says it’s directed at light armoured vehicles. Where said source has no mention of armour packages
The measurements I’ve seen say other wise because the composite blocks are flush with the bottom of the armour which would put them at 200mm thick.
The block at the bottom has 200mm, including 40 plate
that honestly makes no sense because isn’t the brick itself literally advertised as STANAG 5? if the devs think that STANAG 5 is achieved in relation to vehicle position, then why would it even be used on much lighter vehicles and trucks, those don’t have nearly as much armour as the chally like
so its literally boiled down “find proof” of something that’s impossible to find proof for, brilliant
Then it would mean that the block we all know as 200 would be 240
NVM i missremembered it
Just going over the Rafael brochure the ERA shouldn’t detonate except when hit by chemical weapons it states so in the brochure
Is this not showing the protection arcs of the LAV-25, and as a result has nothing to do with the ASPROHMT STANAG 5 Protection Values but instead only the base protection of the LAV25?
That’s the bit we need to prove. Was the brick or the Brick + Plate tested?
:)
I will make a report.
Honestly I’m fed up of gaijin just laying more and more barriers of excuses
so like, its not me be being a dumbass and failing to understand this is it.
literally all the brochures people’ve been sending of it list it as stanag 5 and common sense tells me that they didn’t achieve that in combination with the challengers side armour, otherwise there’d be no use in equipping it for far lighter armoured vehicles.
