Challenger 2 TES/Megatron doing it round’s at bovington tank museum with it’s ASPRO-HMT add to it !!

The top is 2G config, the bottom 2I

these are too different configs, 2G and 2H, ASPRO and VARMA replace eachother between these configs.

Still that book bugs me

ERA(NERA?) Chobham layers. I dont have a source for it (Maybe someone does?)
Does not look like Tankograd.
@duckmartin you got something in your books collection?

Its a passive block with ERA on top, both from Rafael and thats ASPRO-HMT, the data sheet even mentions if being a passive + active approach

Yea, but CHOBHAM type is mentioned there, specifically. That is the thing that cant make me move on from this pic. DOes it mean ASPRO composite is simmilar to Chobham? Is it a different daviation from Chobham?

That book description also matches this configuration;

I can’t really check my entire collection at the minute as it is all still up at my dad’s house as am currently moving into my own house. But I’ll try and get to his house today at some point after work to get a few of them to check them !!

Yea, if what fireball say its true then no
Tbh im already lost and have enought of it. How Legwolf was able to hold up im impressed

Thing is, the ASPRO-HMT needs to be mounted to something. A backing plate could be part of the design and that’s the layer of composite they talk about.

chobham can refer to the lfp block, its in reference to the whole config and returning to an era apporach

there is passive armour, just not in the backplate, its too thin to be composite

Based on the descriptions Rafael has provided both of these configurations match their description;

Spoiler

Replace VARMA with “composite”.

Spoiler

i feel it wouldnt make sense for era to be that thick if it couldnt be resistant to either tandem, or having nera to counter kinetic penetrators. one of the 2 has to be true

Here is my version

WE know 40mm for sure, what is inside the block is unknown, where NERA/ERA ends

Active block should be larger oops

I see what you mean don’t worry.

Blocks by themselfs cant be that heavy. So who is breaking into nearest base and steals one?
