L18 is also the wrong charge anyway
Would the Tank Museum’s video on Challenger 2 count as a reliable source?
no cause video even though those guys know almost everything about the tank
Depend on what you try to prove. If it is something that is based on speed (reload, rotation ect) no, if it is something that is not based on speed (for example postition of something in the tank) then yes
Ah, it includes footage of Megatron rotating the turret 360 degrees and timing roughly with a stopwatch it takes ~11s, including the time to get up to speed and slow to a stop (which I don’t think happens in WT?)
There’s also footage of one firing which includes the automatic elevation of the gun for loading, and I was hoping to use that to look into gun elevation speeds seeing as CR2 is (much) slower than CR1 in-game
(Edit: he also says the top speed is roughly 80kph in actuality but I imagine I’d need to find several other sources that agree with that too)
So nope.
I think i know what video you used, as i used the same with all the calculations and providing proof (people in the background), that it would reach 9s if not start up, slow down a little when close to the engine cover and then slowing while reaching the end of the turn, that it is not sped up. But nope, it can be sped up.
So sadlu nope
Gaijin have the annoying habit of coming up with a fixation in their heads about something (e.g. Challenger 2 NERA doesn’t do anything) and being damn-near immovable despite a torrent of evidence thrown at them. Doesn’t matter where the source hails from, no matter how much weight of proof behind it - if it doesn’t match with their pre-conceived ideas - it gets discounted.
Just take a look at how much is being thrown their way for the Abrams and Leo 2A7 armour values.
A video from one of the world’s most respected AFV museums is probably not even going to make them blink.
The rotation speed in game should be set to 11 seconds for 360 already, with an expert crew.
As for the elevation speeds, I’m responsible for the reports that got them buffed from chieftain speeds to where they are - the issue is mainly lack of sources. Challenger 1 is set to the maximum speeds set by the IFCS brochure, which may or may not be the actual tank itself. Challenger 2 is set to the speeds listed by the gun control equipment listing in Janes. Neither are perfect sources, but they are the best available as the UK is unusually secretive about this kind of thing.
i can’t read is there actually a fix
The change appears to be to the gear ratios
They’ve tweaked the forward gear ratios
so a good change
Is it live now?
Edit - got an update, trying it now
should fixed in .32
live server version is .31
Turns out I was imagining it. :D
So the gears got weaker. We will see
Can some one in the blue yellow nation get their Challenger 2 and stick a bunch of Russian ERA on it so we can have as a op event tank
But it’ll likely just end up with the same result of “Suggestion noted, not going to add for balance”, no?
interesting change in .32
