I did compile a large post and accompanying report on the ammo stowage. Gaijin seems to agree for the most part but takes issue with a few things. Personally i’m totally fine with that, as there’s not a lot of CR2 internal images and the ammo layout can be interpretted in a number of ways. The main thing is that they agree it’s currently wrong which is what I wanted to shine a light on :)
Hope they drop us 28 ready rack while doing shenanigans with the ammo
They do seem not to mention the armoured bins for charges, which I think it was I was trying to say earlier. Given that I lost challies a few matches ago only to ammo detonations. Which from my understanding should be incredibly unlikely to actually occur?
So far my comments have been “Wow! Great work. +10 points for your efforts!”
“Woah, Scottish too! haha yeah nice”
…“oh. yeah nice, worse tank furry” lmaoo
This is a weird one from what I remember. The internals of CR2 are modular. So you can have another radio but lose 4 rounds (2x2) or gain 4 rounds but lose equipment. It’ll be up to Gaijin which config they model
Look what i found, old Cr1 statcard

Yea, but i think they will keep it at the 24 at the back (as who cares about Bowman?) and add it to the ready rack
Not particularly.
The ammunition bins do burn, and quite well when struck. We saw this on some unfortunate incident reports where a challenger fired on another challenger.
They don’t have catestrophic cookoff events like T-72’s do, where the turret pops off, but they do turn into a propane torch if struck badly.
The bins provide you time to bail out, but do not save the tank. It’s also not wet stowage
Should be quite a bit more survivable though! No more ammo anywhere near the driver :)
Ah. Didn’t think it was wet stowage, just was under the impression it was a less easily detonated charge formula, similar to others found in other European designs (mainly Sweden). Not the most familiar with rounds outside of that. Thought it was a bit off due to it being a tiny fragment that set it off. But if it ain’t then that’s fine, better placement is a fine solution.
Hello

Unfortunately, yeah. The tank is designed to be replaceable in helping the crew survive. Everything about CR2 is designed for survivability, even if it means the loss of the tank itself.
We’ve seen in Ukraine, CR2’s unoccupied being hit with top attack missiles, which sets off the charges. But it’s a slow, but increasingly high pressure burn. Not one violent combustion like on other tanks
That unfortunately stays lol
We have only seen one CR2 hit. Was hit from behind by a ATGM (not a top attack missile either) was scuttled by a Ukrainian STUGNA after being disabled by a mine
Also im amused by

On the Base Cr2, while all other else get

Have you guys heard about the marathon starting on January 25th?
Spoiler
So I have a cringe assumption that the equipment for the marathon will be Ajax.))))))

Maybe i’m mistaken but I remember something to the effect of a Kornet/Konkurs K-something ATGM top attacking a CR2 resulting in charge burnoff
Afaik only one lost, the famous one
hitting all the boxes on the bingo card I see
Russia have no top attack missile from what I recall
