Challenger 2 MBT - Crew Voices

Hey👋

I wanted to start this topic regarding the current crew voice lines for Great Britain ground forces.

Currently the voice lines of “Target Destroyed” or “Load Squash Head” is not accurate or realistic to real life.

More realistic voice lines would be for example:

When Loading APFSDS —>> “Load Sabot”
When Loading HESH —>> “Load HESH!”
When Shell/Round is Loaded —>> “Loaded!”

When you fire your Smoke canisters - “Smoke!”

When Laser Ranger Finder is used on vehicle —>> “Laser! On!” or “ On!”

When Firing/Shooting -->> “Firing!”

When an enemy tank is hit it is currently “Target Hit” but that will become —>> “Target!”
When an enemy tank is destroyed it is currently “Target Destroyed” but that will become —>> “Target Stop!”
When a shot on an enemy tanks is missed it becomes “Missed! Adjust”

Visible target moving left ->> “Aim Left!”
Visible target moving right ->> “Aim Right!”
Firing on target ->> “Aim On!”

This is what the challenger crews say IRL, most nations have similar.

Obviously some things like the full fire mission won’t work in game such as “HESH, BMP, Aim On!” But it would be nice to have the proper voice lines as much as we can.

Feel free to add your own below.

inside the Challenger 2 on Live Fire Drills (https://youtu.be/e6hh-CoPKqU?si=C4ueFr0aZUf1oosQ) - Listen closely to what they are saying. You can hear them call out firing, on, coax, target, target stop,
Top Gear Challenger 2 Vs Range Rover (https://youtu.be/bh1ttUGFXf0?si=KXaUneLL3P6D82DC) - Throughout the whole video you can hear and see the crews commands and actions from inside the turret. Want to specify focus at the 7:00 mark where you can hear them call out “On!, Firing!, Miss!” We also want to especially focus on the 11:20 mark where you can hear the crew callout “Loaded! On! Firing!… Target! Target Stop!”.
LDT Training with Ukrainian Crews (https://youtu.be/5cu3N0y7Sf8?si=ePqwnYJSvcz9ONwy) - This video shows Ukrainian Soldiers being trained by British Army on the LDT (Loaders Drill Trainer). Focusing at the 2:50 mark you can hear the simulator call out “Firing! Target! Target Stop!”

No voicelines of crewmembers are realistic, they’re meant to be easy to understand and give a small advantage during certain scenarios. It may be possible to add command before actions but I think this may be exclusive to simulator battles. Command on fire or launching of smoke grenades could consume precious time just to make the game more realistic and I don’t think people will like.

There are definitely more voicelines for crewmembers, some that the player barely heard or never noticed like the driver shouting to an obstacle when the vehicle can’t go any further, commander shouting fire command when you press and hold the fire button before load an shell and so on. I think your best option should creating a suggestion post about this, and as well other voices if possible benefiting every nation as equal in this regard, a very welcome change I must say.

Doesn’t mean that we can’t have some more realistic voice lines on Top Tier tanks

Make it an optional setting.

GHPC voice line level of immersion.

@l2ulan your expertise is needed

Custom voice packs exist, so it’s not a problem in my opinion.

I like your intention, but some elements are not correct.

APFSDS = “Load FIN!”

Sabot (“SAH-bo” or “SAY-bo”) is used for APDS.

LRF = “Lasing!”

Kill = can also be “Target stopped!”, and can be called by Commander or Gunner.

Miss = a miss is not called as “miss”, the gunner adjusts until a hit is observed.

Use of the word “aim” is superfluous.

Example;
CMDR: “HESH, tank! Stop loading, load FIN!”
GNR: “On!”
LDR: “Loaded!”
GNR: “Firing! Target!”
LDR: “Loaded!”
GNR: “Firing! Target!”
CMDR: “Target stopped!”

A lot of elements of the Gun Drill would not work in WT.

Not sure about other countries but British Gun Drill has had very few changes since inception, so a single system could be applied to vehicles of all periods relatively easily.

Too be honest I also forgot sound mods exist but not too fussy about this
