Statcards rarely offer the full picture needed for accurate description and comparison.
For example for shells you seem to be listing flat pen, which does not matter as much as angled pen. Sure, when it comes to long rods, higher flat pen usually equals to higher angled pen, but still.
This is irrelevant.
Challenger 2s do have their issues, people are working hard on reporting them and spreading awarness of them.
Focus on supporting these instead.
(edited to save on replies) The stat cards may lie some of the time, but having played most of those tanks or their variants, I can tell you the challenger does feel slow and unresponsive in comparision.
For shells, the challenger definitely feels like you have to aim more carefully, limiting your reaction time which is terrible for warthunders fast paced engagements.

Morv posts it with every dev server, its not meant to be a live thread as much as collection of CR2 bug reports for other players and reminder to devs that CR2s are, in fact, still in the game.
Its dev server thread for the update thats already in game so its closed. But you can go through the bug report links and click the “I have the same issue” there to boost their visibility.
The Challenger 2’s are alright at 11.7, however, they have many issues that gaijin have just completely neglected.
Most notably:
- Missing LFP and hull side spall liners
- Significantly underperforming mantlet protection, even after the rework
- The ready rack is far too small, proven by primary documents which state it is much larger than 4.
- Missing the applique UFP addon of around 50-70mm for certain variants
If just those were fixed, the CR2 would be significantly better, yet gaijin simply ignore these already accepted reports for literally years.
The Challengers don’t need to be moved down, they need to be fixed

I think gaijin needs to focus on reworking top tier a bit, top tier air rb is rubbish cuz of tiny maps and ground is pretty unbalanced. I’d rather them stop adding new top tier vehicles, focus on fixing the existing vehicles (still waiting on Abrams turret basket) and keep the additions for lower tiers which need them
Considering it took them so long to just rebalance 2020’s top tier, by which time the next top tier had arrived had made most of the fixes useless.
Lack of armour is workable, but for me the mobility issues are the most painful to manage, even on the small maps we have in 11.7 most of time, it’s difficult to position myself. It’s ok being slower than the others, but being such an iron unable to turn a single degree without ending at 5kph is really atrocious. Regenerative steering like system would be a gift of god
They said they’re going to do an official test for regenerative steering, we are just waiting for it
I believe there is no actual source that a single Challenger 2 has survived 70+ RPG hits. IIRC it was 8 RPG hits and an ATGM (kornet i believe). While impressive, other MBT’s can do the same even without an added armor kit.

Yeah, there isn’t any evidence of the 70+ RPG incident and it likely didn’t happen.
However, we do have other evidence of Challengers surviving repeated hits from ATGM / RPGs.
In terms of any other MBT doing the same without the armour kit, it depends on the MBT and the position hit.
The side/rear of any modern MBT will not survive a hit from a modern RPG or ATGM without addon armour.
Unfortunately we know IRL that the challenger is probably the slowest MBT, and there isn’t really much we can do to address that. Apart from regenerative steering as you mentioned.
The round could be a bit better, but gaijin has their own formula which makes it obsolete, so really the only thing that can be done is address the gun breech and dorchester levels imo.
AFAIK the challenger is confirmed to have survived at least 14 in one engagement, possibly more. Less than 70 but this is still a lot of RPGs to survive, and still have all functional capabilities
If I had to choose a tank to survive it, my pick would be the Challenger.

Non existent armour, spall liner that lacks important area coverage and a sub-par gun/round for the BR it’s at
I must admit the only times I do well with the armour and round are when I’m in a full downtier, which barely happen. I also don’t play the OES much or anything above 10.3 because I’m spading Ajax and TTD
