Its sadder that you guys arent able to acknowledge the role germany played in the vehicle. Its a demonstrator for the gun. Nothing more. Its main goal was a proof of concept for the mgcs for germany. The article itself stated they used a challenger over the leopard just cause it was easier to do. It had nothing to do necesarily with the UK. They always planned to do a demonstrator. But cause they had the challenger at hand they requested to use it for a time to show ot of towards germany. Its stated in the interview. Leos were considered, challenger was just easier.
Again what does that habe to ditz hating challengers? I am “quoting” the interview they stated it was just easier to use the challenger cause its bigger.

No they just said the Challenger 2 was easier not that is why they did it.
Other then the tank being paid for by the British and advertised with being able to use this gun and was fitted with UK mod approval using ther crew to test it.

The fact that you were the one that provided germans with the source in question and as a result made a lot of germans change their opinion to where it belongs, seems to have left deep trauma in you

- Unmodified Challenger 2 hull
- modified Challenger 3 turret??? (maybe but could also be a completely new one)
- Rheinmetalls 130 mm gun
I don’t know if there are any sources specifically stating that the turret they used is not based off the Challanger BUT a completely new design specifically for the 130 mm.
Based off the overall shape, optic type and arrangement and everything it seems to be a Chally 3 turret with a modified mantlet and a vis mod (maybe some electronics or mechanical parts that did not fit in the turret had to be conceiled…)
It is a german project on the Challenger showing off the 130mm on a tracked platform… idk to what tec tree it truly belongs to.
At least in my mind it is soo heavily based on the Challenger 2/3 that it makes kinda sense to put it in the british tec tree but on the other hand britain never wanted or acquired the 130 in the first place.
Its quite know its likely the challenger 2 lep turret used. They had the challenger for a few weeks to do their own project.
That wasnt enough time for a completly new turret. We dont know how excesivly it had ro be modified to accompany the 130mm gun or the autoloader that being said.

Generaly ahowing gajin a united front is always better.
But quite a bit of the british playerbase seems to be allergic to the thought of challengers in another tree

I mean it is a demonstrator to show off the gun and to proove the concept… based of what has been posted already and the description under the YT video I am guessing that it is both meant as a competitor against the Nexter’s 140 and as an advertising “for main battle tanks (MBT)” in general for the european market.

as I already said, yes you are correct but the official youtube video description from Rheinmetall themselves states “for main battle tanks”.
I take this statement as that the Chally 130 or whatever is not only meant for the Rheinmetal vs Nexter competition.
