Challenger 130mm Testbed does not belong to Germany

Main argument: Germany has enough tanks of their own such as Leopard 2A8, Leopard 2 A-RC, Leopard 3, and the KF51 Panther, as well as future EMBT and Leopard AX

Bro they are a lot of leo in other nations lots of t-72 in other nations lot of anything in other natios and you need to know Germany do the cannon of the Challengers, Abrams etc, you need to just chill and see what happend and if they dont put the challenger 130mm you need to see they are gonna put the Leo2a4 140mm

The problem there is that it was a private venture by RBSL Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land.

While the company is mostly BAE, they are the largest non american military industrial company in the world after all, its still partially the Rheinmetall company which gives germany a claim to it. However this claim isnt much larger than britains own claim to a modern bradley (produced by BAE) or to most cold war MBTs because or the Royal Ordinance factories L7 canon.

If gaijin puts their anti britain sentiment aside for once germany can get a 130mm gun through the KF51 Panther (an MBT based on the 2a4 leopard with the 130mm gun and lots of other modern goodies for gaijin to call marketing lies) the CR2 130mm would only need to go to britain because of that.

it can go to germany but would be clutching at straws and intentionally done in bad taste, just like the class 3 (P) the update before the SA subtree was added, or the Revenge class Royal Sovereign going to USSR

I’d be fine with it going to Germany or even both, it was a test bed between both countries with close defense and industrial ties, could make a great squad, event vehicle or even a premium as well for either. Nice to spread the chally love around a little especially when it has a 130mm I’d be grinding it regardless

its not going to both nations, its 100% going to be in German tech tree only, and thats the main issue with it, unlike Britain, Germany is a major nation (in real life) with large amount of unique tanks of their own (comparable to those of US and russia) that could be added to both top tier and other ranks, once it gets added to german tech tree its gonna be the unwanted puppy among the other tanks, german players play the game solely for stuff like tigers and leopards, yes they might use it for a month or two, but once leviathans like Leopard 2A8, Leopard 2A-RC, Leopard 3, and the KF51 release, Challenger 130 is literally going to rot in the corner with no players using it, for the British tech tree, that tank is virtually the last one that they could add to british top tier, along the Challenger 3, there is no reason for it to go to Germany both logically and gameplay wise

Challenger 130 is literally not comparable to Leo 2A4 and T-72 as it is a top tier tank of 4th generation, that alone changes everything

make no sense

Baby "Tell Em Son" Meme | AI Baby Holding Laugh | Know Your Meme

as i stated before, Germany has future top tier contenders like Leopard 2A8, Leopard 2A-RC, Leopard 3, and the KF51, thats 4 tanks alone, and that’s not considering the fact that Germany literally crank out a whole new Leopard variant within months, Britain cannot compare with that raw power, theres virtually no reason for it to go to Germany

The Challenger 130mm was a private venture by Rheinmetall, not RBSL. It was never meant for Britain, it was made to show off the 130mm gun for Germany’s next generation mbt programs (such as MGCS) and that was it.

"The main objective for Rheinmetall is the MGCS programme, in which the 130 mm competes against Nexter’s 140 mm proposal. “ The way ahead - EDR Magazine

If you wanna go down that road you’re gonna lose claim to the Ajax, LMUK boxer and patria, and a whole lot more…

The same argument that you are using can be used by italy/hungary for them to claim the KF51 since it is only gonna be in service there

I don’t mind where it goes it technically belongs in both trees it was a tech demonstrator not a production vehicle I’ll get it regardless plus as a suggestion it may not even come anyway eta 2 - 5 years it’s a long way off regardless

Private venture from Rheinmetall Landsysteme, wasn’t ever intended for Britain.

The Challenger 130 will most likely go to britain. Outside of the Challenger 3 with EPSOM armor and maybe some subtrees there is basically nothing that could be added. Plus its still on the basis of a Challenger tank.

It won’t, it was made as a private venture in Germany by Rheinmetall.

Private venture to test out the new 130mm gun, yes. On a Challenger chassis. Its neither made for the german army nor did britain eventually choose the 130 for the Challanger 3.

It’s a demonstrator for the European market and that’s about it. In effect its part german, part british even if britain only provided the hull and power pack.

Germany has other ways to gain access to the 130mm with the KF51 and later on with the EMBT the 140mm Ascalon, britain doesn’t.

tbh I wouldnt take what country the vehicle got passed to devs as considering we got like 4 f-35s each to a different nation when most nations each have like 2 variants of the thing

This is a meaningless argument, the same could go for the Vicker Mk.7; It uses a leopard 2 chassis.

And you just said it yourself, it’s a Rheinmetall Landsysteme demonstrator; Technology demonstration by Germany. Britain hasn’t even considered adopting 15L 130mm rounds, it is extremely unrealistic to give this to Britain.

Please do not spread misinformation. This was a player made suggestion topic that was passed to thr developers for consideration. Nothing more.

A suggestion being passed to the devs does not mean it will come to the game or only for the nationa it was suggested for, or even at all. All of that is down to the developers to consider and decide.

We haven’t announced any plans or anything rewarding this vehicle. It was purely a player made suggestion.
