Vickers Mk7 moment, double the composite volume of the CR1, but only 70% the effective armor. Despite using the same armor technology. Gotta love it.

Be nice it we could find some actual concrete blueprints of it’s make up. There is a bug report stating it’s protection is too low and it was acknowledged… But you know they had to nerf the challenger 3 within a month first… Community Bug Reporting System also Community Bug Reporting System

Am surprised there still not removing L23 since it never existed only L23A1 existed !!
The Shir 2 is now ingame and that applique plate is modelled as 5mm.
Personally I do not agree that it should be hollow. The dent is on the front edge, which could have occured when the tank drove into something. With 60+ tonnes of weight behind it, that dent could be possible on the plate even if it was solid. After all it is a training tank, its not surpising it may have driven into something due to an inexperienced driver.
Funnily enough I don’t live too far from that abandoned Challenger training tank, and I’ve actually climbed on it. It certainly dosen’t feel hollow from what I remember.
I’d like to bug report it and get it changed to something more reasonable, however, I cannot find any solid data on how thick the plate is sadly.

Because its the same round and gun you get on the Chiefain mk3 at 8.7? only at 9.7.
The stats are indentical to the L15A3 from the Cheiftain Mk.10
Its not, the Cheiftain has the L15A3 round, L15A5 is exclusive to the Shir 2 ingame

Oh interesting with a little bit more looking into it there is a thread here that goes into some detail on the differences between the A3 and A5 rounds. the A5 is supposed to have a DU sheath and core.
I had incorrectly assumed it was just a normal British MoD moment of renaming things for no reason.

Nope, people have been asking for the l15a5 round for years for the chieftains due it being kinda needed but hey, only a 9.7 tank can have it according to gaijin. What makes it even more ironic is that it now has imaginary stats making it the second imaginary round the shir 2 has along side the l23 because a5 is du as you say and so should have more pen than the a3.
Anyone gonna do a bug report on L15A5 and how its pen is to low
