I speculated this was the case since a friend of mine played a ton every day and got into the first CBT.

Access to CBT is random, next wave of invitation leaves the Great Snail’s servers. Cross your fingers and wait for it.
And no, no purchase, number of hours spend in game, K/D ratio or other numbers will not increase/decrease your chance to get it.

I am not sure, I don’t know if it’s a good strategy to hype up players to get them to sign up, and then piss on them and just let them wait until the event is over.
That was just an example but maybe you guys have other ideas too.
Maybe " We appreciate your interest in the Closed Beta Test. While we cannot accommodate all applicants in this initial phase, we value your patience. As a token of our gratitude, all applicants not selected for this wave will be credited 100,000 Silver Lions to their accounts. Thank you for your continued support of the game." or maybe even something even better. What do you think about this one?

Nah the 100k is stupid. Just say you didn’t get in better luck next wave or test.
We will not send the e-mail to players who did not get access. That’s the worse thing you can do.

100K SL is a lot of SL to me. Will definitely keep me happy.
Why would they give you a reward for not being accepted, doesn’t really make sense. They haven’t done anything wrong or unfair so why would they need to provide compensation? Sure it would be nice but like does a company give you anything if you don’t pass a job interview?
They definitely did a lot of times… so it probaly OK if they can spare a coin.
Afaik the only times they do this is during unexpected service failures, like during the ddos attacks. players weren’t able to access the game to complete battle pass tasks or marks of distinction. Thus they provided an extension and boosters due to the outage.
