CAS problem

I didn’t say a Custom server, I said a Custom Battle…which are freely available as-is. Putting together one TO battle (or many) is not only a way to demonstrate interest in the concept of TO, it’d also be a decent way to explore how the concept might work if implemented…sort of like a prototype.

If something like that was put together and attracted consistent interest, it’d likely generate interest from them.

It amazes me that TO supporters are so dismissive about such an obvious (and relatively easy) way to show proof of concept. I have suggested this since 2017 and yet no TO supporters have bothered…not even to try TO for their own sake!

Because hosting a server doesn’t mean jack. We’re not Rosa Parks, we are not going to get what we want by sitting in the back of a map. Best we can do is fill the forums and harass Gaijin until we get it. Otherwise there is another form of protest we can do, I just don’t think it’s viable to do a Harlan County War at Gaijin HQ.

Custom battles would just be starting a room in the Custom Battles section of the game…you don’t have to set up anything extravagant–you could probably coordinate it all through the forums.

As a matter of history, I will tell you that’s been the strategy at play since January 2017; look where it’s gotten TO.

Or we continue to fill the forums with CAS hate, make people realise “oh wait, CAS is annoying” and showcase mods silencing us like Sm-- and St— having a piss fit every time they see a Tanks Only thread, and get people on our side because it’s more fun to be on the side against injustice instead of… hosting a bake sale and hoping Gaijin notices one game server just sitting around.

I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news…but that’s also been a common strategy since Silkmonger (the original poster in 2017) debuted his thread.

After 8 years, there’s ‘not much to show for it’ and that’s the generous characterization. (The more negative characterization is that people see it all as whining–which I don’t see as necessarily the case personally.)

That the forum mods try to consolidate threads on a given topic into a limited number of threads isn’t a surprise…it’s an expectation really. They’ve done the same with AI AAA too, so it’s really the norm.

If that’s how you perceive it, alright…I’m just suggesting a different path from the one that’s been tried for the bigger part of a decade. You’re entitled to keep going as you have if you’d like.

I’m going based on actual history. Peaceful protests have never worked. Want to know what did work? You do realise tyrants typically laugh at peaceful protests, right? I wouldn’t mind if you said make a GoFundMe or whatever… actually, I get money from that… I’ll be rich in a few hours!

While we cannot really expand upon this due to the confines of the forum on political talk and all that, I have to say this is a very ‘interesting’ take to say the least.

If you don’t want to try something new in TO advocacy, that’s fine…but it doesn’t seem to be the greatest idea when 8 years has yielded seemingly nil results.

Aye, although it would be fun if we did take that alternative path route. Imagine, the game that has an issue with military leaks now needs military intervention.

I’m just saying, I don’t believe that a sit in will do anything. Besides YouTube advocacy, I don’t believe anything will really happen. Best we can do is call each other names.

Considering that YouTubers sometimes host the sort of Custom Battles I’m describing (albeit usually usually themed (ex. ‘WW2 era’ or ‘Battle of the Bulge’, etc), the Custom Battle idea seems to fit nicely with what you envision. Altogether, I do believe the merit is there for it.

Whether TO supporters want to pursue it is up to them.

I remember a time players voted for negative reviews on Steam, after a day Gajin made an act immediately. They posted a roadmap, a plan for upcoming changes, but after a year everything slowly came back to the way it was, lacking communication. I feel like people working at this game just do their tasks and go home, they never touch or actually play their game. I currently work in the game industry and there are numerous people like that, so sad.

Fine, I’ll host the sit-in. First I need to get YouTube cred.

Aye, they’re trying to be like Activision. Such a shame.

You are not listening what i am telling you.

So i’ll treat you the same way

You’re free to point out where I ignored you when I literally dealt with every part of your post, lmao

Saying you’re not going to read isn’t a flex either. Being unserious doesn’t help the TO cause.

I think he did the right thing, though. Convincing you is probably a waste of time and energy since you are that unimportant one who has little to no influence on the outcome.

Yeah…endorsing anti-intellectualism isn’t a great look and it only leans into validating negative perceptions about TO advocates. (But you do you!)

Yeah…individually, everyone is just one person with little to no influence on an outcome. That’s how mechanics in venues with large populations generally work.

You are no different…you’re just one person, no more important than I. It’s strange you seem to imply otherwise.

Well, luckely everbody on this forum is equally unimportant.

Have you considered any of the replies at all about adding TO in addition to combined?
