very good question if CAS players are flying higher than your SPAA range and dropping guided bombs, that’s frustrating, no doubt. But there are ways to counter it — it just requires a little more strategy and teamwork.

1. Spawn a jet yourself.
   If they’re flying too high, get in a fast jet and climb to intercept them. Jets have air-to-air missiles and guns, and you can take them down before they even see you. You don’t have to just rely on SPAA.
2. Situational awareness and cover.
   If they’re using guided bombs, they rely on line of sight or laser and if Missle TV guidance Drop some smoke bombs or hide inside the tree. Move around, use terrain for cover, and don’t sit still. You make yourself a much harder target if you stay mobile and unpredictable. However according to my experienceI can hear those missiles coming closer to us and just drop some smokes then they will completely miss you and DO NOT STAY IN SAME POSITION OR GO OUTSIDE OF THE SMOKE The TV will relock itself, and the laser will be able to track you down.
3. Airspawn vulnerability.
   When they’re climbing from the edge of the map, they’re exposed for a while. Spot them, communicate with your team, and get a coordinated response to deal with them. They’re not invincible if you know where they are.

welp…here’s the truth: if you can’t do any of this — well, that’s the reality of war. Sometimes you don’t have the tools or coordination to deal with a threat, and that’s part of the challenge. Adapt, respond, and evolve with the game. CAS isn’t invincible; it’s about being aware, prepared, and knowing how to fight back. Accept your fate mate.

As for the idea that CAS players ruin the fun for ground players, I don’t think it’s as simple as that. The real issue isn’t CAS itself, but how players respond to it

You’re right that it’s a videogame, and that’s why it’s supposed to be fun. But removing or nerfing parts of the game that don’t fit your playstyle isn’t the answer

CAS is part of the dynamic experience of the game, and taking that away would reduce the challenge and excitement that make it fun.

Yes might work, but it would require to grind aircraft tree parallel to tank tree and if CAS is the dominating power in “ground battles” and the best counter methode is CAS, then what are tanks or SPAA even for, if even in ground battles the matches are dominated by aircrafts? Why not just stick to air battles in the first place?

I do that too, but I gotta say in high tier SPAAs are too slow to seek cover from approaching CAS.

I can’t agree here. Every CAS player with more than 2 braincells instandly pulls down till it’s out of line of sight and from there on you need watch the sky 360° constandly to have a slight chanche to intercept him.
From my personal experience I can tell CAS is most time approching very low and the moment I can spot it and open fire on it, it also fires on me which is 99% a gurantee death for me and I die before I could guide my misslie to hit it.

And that’s problem for game. CAS has huge advantage and ground players don’t even get warned to hide (fighting back is impossible)

If SPAA isn’t doing its job, it’s not about CAS — it’s about the player not doing their part. Good SPAA players can make life hell for air, and fast jets can’t just ignore them

CAS outranges you, can easily hide from your radar (just fly low) and if you launch missiles, all it takes to avoid is - do few maneuvers. Can see ground targets from 15-20 km away and send deadly missile, while no AA can reach it. I don’t understand what you mean when you say “good SPAA player”, there can’t be good SPAA player, only dumb CAS players who fly straight and are half blind.

Hiding behind cover, using terrain — it’s smart, it’s tactical. It’s no different than ground players using hills and forests to ambush

You really don’t see difference?? Like seriously??
If helicopter hides behind hills, it is practically impossible to destroy from ground (AAs can’t hit behind cover, tanks obviously are useless). If tanks use cover it still can be countered with other tanks, everything depends on players skills and fast reactions. That’s difference.

What’s the issue? If you earn the kills, you deserve the right to spawn a jet or heli

I mean people taking helis first spawn, i was talking about people who don’t use group vehicles in ground mode (yes i have seen many players doing it)

No, they leave because they don’t want to deal with a bad situation. You can blame CAS, but when you’re spawn-camped by air and your team’s not helping with air defense, of course it’s frustrating.

If enemy team has CAS players with few braincells, it’s impossible to counter.

That’s what I’m saying, current game CAS can’t be effectively countered because AAs are too weak, too boring to play and gives too low rewards. That’s why people leave after 1 death, spawning 2nd-3rd tank is pointless, you will get missiles/bombs from sky, spawning AA doesn’t works too, yes you can shoot down 1-2 braindead CAS players but there always will be 1 skilled CAS or tanks find you and you are dead. For results you have 10min lossed match, maximum 30k sl 5k RP(with prem acc) and 3-4 death (more death means less reward) while you could just leave after 3-4 minutes, get little low rewards but less negative and frustration from gameplay.

Yes, looked bad sides because big maps like Vietnam, Fulda and others are bad maps. Nobody likes it to play and i don’t want new maps like that. But yeah, i got your point.

Repeating that it’s not an option doesn’t make it true considering it is very well and option that Gaijin for whatever cannot see. CAS players would still buy their premium planes for ground strike in combined arms and TO would probably see a rise in ground vehicle purchases

Yeah this is why the lowest BR the laserbombers can go is like 10.3 or something, they also are usually not too hard to take down with IR SPAA either. I think early helicopters and guided weapons are harder to counter than what you see at top tier.

You can blame CAS, but when you’re spawn-camped by air and your team’s not helping with air defense, of course it’s frustrating. But the real issue is the lack of team coordination. The problem isn’t that CAS is OP — it’s that your team is failing to respond properly. If air is dominating, it’s because your team is failing to do their part. So, don’t blame CAS — blame the lack of proper counters and team coordination. It’s not CAS ruining the game, it’s a lack of effort from your team.

The fact people struggle with this boggles the mind even more when you consider the guy who steps in to correct the situation by spawning SPAA or whatever usually is the guy who profits the most and often CAS players will become complacent or overly ambitious when allowed to run free.
