I get the idea reading this you don’t play and thus don’t understand how CAS works: If that is the case then why are you assigning causation? Doesn’t take a genius to put 2 and 2 together and realize someone with a only surface level understanding on how CAS is carried out is going to have trouble dealing with CAS(and that’s without even touching on lineups). I doubt you understand how to make a plane much harder to bring down or a SPAA much more problematic to the plane.
Surface level CAS gameplay like you see in this screenshot doesn’t say anything about CAS; look at the screenshot:
He’s an entire 1.0BR above the Roland system which could irradicate him for 70SP
He wouldn’t be able to dive to safety before any missile(like spikes) would hit him.
He’s 3km away, a proximity fuzed SPAA could easily delete him, normal SPAAG could even make that shot.
It’s just a case of lol you failed the spot check gg red team or if you just never have a lineup it’s bye red team gg no re. Welcome to high tier GRB lol, you all know damn well CAS can cause damage that easily and hopefully know how CAS can be deleted that easily.
Like it or not that chinese name guy in the SU-34 with 8 ground kills 4.5 minutes into the game is adapting, the people leaving are running away from the problem instead of learning to deal with it. You can dismiss leaving as ‘their choice’ sure, but in a gamemode about PvP for digital profit: what do they gain from it? Their gameplay is a detriment to achieving skill bonuses, win bonuses and profit in general while locking themselves out of improvement. If it’s an adaption then why are they at the bottom both literally and figuratively?
It’s not Gaijin’s fault when you bury your head in the sand and refuse to learn or adapt. You knew damn well you were up against other players who had every right to use every advantage they could to beat you. If you don’t like it you can play something else or continue to be disadvantaged against players who adapt and learn to succeed instead of expecting Gaijin to do it for you.
and is this needed in a ground gamemode?
air vs ground pvp is pretty simple. the plane needs to send off missiles and hide near the ground, while the spaa needs to have a clear angle on the aircraft and cannot be positioned so that its easy to attack by a low flying aircraft from up close.
some maps dont allow SPAA to be positioned well whatsoever, and even CAS comes right up to the SPAA, many of them struggle to shoot the aircraft down just because of how bad they are.
but most importantly, no ground player should have to bother with all this garbage of aircraft hide and seek and shooting down AGMs.
why does it say nothing? there are literally minimum 5 aircraft over the enemies heads right now.
any SPAA is guaranteed to die sooner or later, not to mention ground units.
i was so high in the air because i already eradicated multiple remaining ground units (who were near their spawn, and couldnt to anything at all about me). when i spawned the KA-50 i was near the ground where i had plenty time to dodge any missile.
and if i was playing against a roland, unless i was careless, he would do nothing about me. i would check the spawn areas and launch at any SPAAs while near the ground far away, and have a great chance to defeat them without being hit. and if it comes down to it, i can always try to shoot the incoming missile which succeeds many times - i can shoot 12 missiles, he can shoot 2
i dont know what this is supposed to say about CAS but it does not make sense
You can shoot down helicopter and noobs flying on low attidude with the VT-1, ADATS and 2S6 but everything above or fight against skilled jet players is become difficult.
Wasn’t referring to you(was referring to Despair7991), definitely hit the nail on the head with that last part too lol.
Yes.
Things aren’t going to go well for them on account of being(presumably) outnumbered, that’s just how things are. Even if they aren’t, you have 5 aircraft overhead and you can counter that with a SPAA worth less than 1/5 of their SP cost, I think it’s safe to say counterplay was forsaken. While you may have spawned and played low anyone spawning an SPAA at this point is likely going to be given a free lunch with aircraft in those positions. Even if you were low:
Wrong, even a Roland could easily eliminate the KA-50 and systems like the Osa, Stormer HVM, etc. could do even better. I’ll explain how:
The Roland when locked on has a distant arming fuze, meaning the missiles can only be intercepted 600m from the aircraft, which is pretty close.
The Roland can do the ol pre-fuze update trick of just maneuvering the missile around any Vikhr’s which considering the above is even more likely to work.
Since the KA-50 can only intercept a locked Roland below 600 meters it has to fire one when the missiles are under ~1150m away going by stat cards alone and because WT models beam riding guidance this would cause any missiles it’s guiding further than that to immediately lose lock and fall to the ground.
The German+French Roland can fire smoke grenades and hide in them as it uses radar guidance to track and kill you and all you can do is shoot through the smoke hoping to hit it.
Keep in mind this is only for the Roland which is something you see in a full downtier, as of the new BR changes it will be 10.0 so you wont even see it then. Other systems that are arguably even more deadly:
ASRAD-R - Faster reaction time, can spam multiple(at least 3) missiles of its own, lacks distant fuze but faster missiles with smaller exploitable proxy range.
Otomatic - Everything lol, best counter against pop-up attacks.
OSA-AKM - Fuze arms 150m from target, need I say more?
Strela - Crappier option but basically case closed if it’s allowed to get a lock(has photocontrast mode). Could easily take down several aircraft if outnumbered like you described.
Stormer HVM- Extremely fast missiles that don’t give a shit about Vikhr’s or even have a proximity fuze to exploit.
I’m not even going to bother listing SPAA over 11.3 as all of them are overkill except the Type 81 iirc.
Makes sense(I hope) when you read what I was replying to.
If i don’t play CAS, doesn’t means I’m not playing against it and it doesn’t means i don’t know how effective and easy it is to drop bombs or missiles on tanks, while they can’t defend themselves or hide. It’s just simple.
Can’t… If pilot has few braincells AAs are useless, just fly low and then rocket is launched do slight turns. Ohh it’s so hard right?!
Don’t need this “Hollywood speech” please… Learning, addapting?! Are you serious.
It’s just game, people want interesting and fun gameplay. Not hiding from planes, or survive rockets. People (and me too) want play tanks, not planes or ships. That’s why I’m asking for TO mode. I don’t like CAS gameplay, it’s NOT funny and interesting for me + it’s unfair.
And again, nobody can force playerbase to play what they don’t like. So write as many as you want it changes nothing, people will still leave after 1 death because of CAS. If think about it, It’s adaptation to, CAS destroyed me? Well, okay I’ll just join other match glhf
You wanted adaptation? Take 2-3 minutes long matches.
Playing CAS in ground is probably the worst experience in the game unless you think spamming spacebar a bunch of times to drop bombs is the greatest high ever. It completely ruins the flow of the game and defeats the point of even having an air gamemode if people are just gonna fly around in planes all day in ground battles. At this point they should just remove air battles since it’s just the same thing as ground battles, minus the tanks.
Simple as in you reciting your internal dialogue every time you get blown up by a plane right? I mean:
Yeah dodge a Roland in your KA-50, it’s basically a game of “tell me you know little about CAS vs SPAA” without actually saying it. You don’t play CAS, you think it’s simple, you have minimal supporting simple, you feel extremely indignant it exists, basically everything except “I don’t know”.
If you don’t like it don’t play it, simple as that. You can complain all day that the game doesn’t cater to you but it’s something that’s had GRB as a combined arms mode for what? 10 years?
Then what’s the problem if you can adapt? Oh yeah I forgot it turns out leaving matches and refusing to learn doesn’t get you very many war thudner monies. If you can’t tell that’s sarcasm lol.
Man at this rate they going to point to flappy bird and tell me “dis easy, cas bad unga bunga” and then scurry off into the jungle.
ka-50 has the same chance against the roland as the roland has against it and also comes with distinct advantages against the roland.
but the ka-50 isnt a jet launching F&F missiles from kilometers away and flying low and stealthy
the game didnt have AGMs with 20 km of range for 10 years, at most things that required some skill to hit targets and exposed the aircraft to at least a little bit of danger.
imagine playing CSGO with a spontaneous human combustion feature, thats what we have in war thunder, just with a sparse and underpowered counter.
why should ground players pay for the inability of their only SPAA?
this would make sense if GRB was renamed to SPAA-RB.
in what world can you say that a tank getting exploded by an AGM is fair, what counterplay is the tank supposed to do? die, get in a SPAA and just stay there for the rest of the match? every single game?
