Well yes, but that’s the nature of the beast.
Getting a handle on the earlier SPAAs is a steep learning curve and I usually find it easier to shoot at planes when they come straght for me instead of leading my shots as they pass.
However, not all SPAAs are equally useful. Early Swedish SPAAs are…difficult, while the M16 is excellent.
So the SPAA way up to 10.3 can’t deal with CAS just fine ;).
Well, it’s not just Sweden against everyone else.
M16, M42, Wirbelwind, Ostwind II, Kugelblitz and so on…there are good SPAAs in the lower BRs and then the VEAK, Gepard and so on for mid-tier.
If people would use the Gepard as an AA and not fold down the radar dish and go tank hunting, then we’d see a much better ground experience.
Alas, people spawn AA as last vehicle mostly, when they are outnumbered and simply picked off by CAS.
Any open top SPAA is being overpressured by rockets landing near them. HVAR and RP-3 work just fine.
Gepard can be destroyed with helis or guided ammo outside of its effective range.

Thats the reason why many cannon spaa are over tiered. People see an AP belt then only use it for anti tank.

If you increase the SP cost, players who don’t perform very well will get fewer chances to play CAS and the people who are already getting it regularly will not care. Most CAS is not getting insane K/D performance versus the tanks the same player is using in the same lineups. Nerf low/no-skill CAS like the PE-8/Lancaster/JU87 where people spam it by abusing the low BR SP discount or ridiculously huge bombs a monkey could get a double kill with. Also make reserve tier vehicles generate no SP when played at BR 2.0 or higher.
Other than that, without data demonstrating the average player is getting an amazing deal out of their CAS spawns versus their ground spawns, the topic is still dead.
EDIT: It might also bear mentioning that a lot of lineups in the game become horrible without their plane/heli options, so is there going to be a whole BR ranking for this game type and do you trust snail god to get it right?
