Description: The Caproni Vizzola F.6M was an Italian fighter of the Second World War. The development started back in 1941 when the Italian company Caproni Vizzola started to project a new aircraft using the experience gained from the F.5 and F.4 to realize a new aircraft based on these projects equipped with the new German DB605 engine. The project looked promising, and the Regia Aeronautica showed interest in it. Compared to its predecessors, the new aircraft was entirely made out of metal and was batter-armed, with 4x 12.7 mm Breda SAFAT machineguns. The first prototype, designated F.6M, made its first flight in 1941. It was judged positively, though its performance was inferior compared to the other Series 5 fighters. For these reasons, the Regia Aeronautica lost interest in the project, and no orders were placed. But the company didn’t give up and started to investigate a new solution to improve the aircraft. The company decided to test on the aircraft one of the few Italian non-radial engines. The version was called F.6MZ, with the only differences being the engine and the nose. It made its first flight in 1943 and conducted some trials in the following months. Compared to the F.6M, the MZ was faster but had more problems regarding the overheating of the engine. The Armistice of Cassabile in 1943 stopped any further development of the aircraft, and both prototypes were abandoned.
Why it should be in game: it could be a good addition addition to the Italian low tier aviation lines
