Description: The Caproni Ca314C was an Italian all-metal twin-engine ground attack aircraft developed during the Second World War. It’s development started back in 1940, when the Italian company Caproni wanted to realize a new medium bomber based on the already existing Ca313. The first three prototypes were Ca313 converted with modified armaments, wings, bomb rack, and nose (similar to the Ca311M). The Regia Aeronautica placed its first order in 1941 for around 300 units to arm various regiments, with the first 30 units being delivered in the summer of 1942. Three versions of the Ca314 were made, with the first being the A, for military patrol and reconnaissance, followed by the B, which was made as a torpedo bomber, and lastly the C, which had more machineguns and was mainly intended for an attacker role. The subject of this suggestion, the C version, was the most produced ever, with around 254 units being realized. Compared to the other versions, the Ca314C was fitted with 5 machineguns (5 in the front and 1 in a turret) and a better payload, which allowed it to carry up to 1280 kg of bombs. It was used on all fronts except the Russian one, where it performed efficiently unlike other versions like the B. It was mainly used for ground attack, but a few were used alongside the Italian Do217 as night fighters, and they were equipped with a big searching light in the nose. When the armistice arrived, a lot of units were still operational, but sadly, a lot of them were lost during those days. Still, plenty of them survived and were used by both the RSI and the cobelligerants. A good cunch of them was also used by the Luftwaffe, who initially used it only as a trainer but later discovered that the aircraft was valuable and started using it for the roles it was intended to fulfill. It’s unknown if any unit managed to survive the war, but even if that happened, none were used in the newly formed Italian air force, unlike many other older Italian aircraft.

Why it should be in game: It believe this small and powerfoul attacker could help a lot the Italian low tier at bier 2.0/2.3 considering it’s weapons and it’s speed.

Wow +1! If Italian planes performed as good as they looked…

So what I get from scraps:

  • 4x12.7mm frontally(300 bullets each) + Caproni-Lancini “Delta E” 1x12.7mm dorsal turret(350 bullets) + 1x7.7mm Breda-Safat or Scotti-I.F MG belly position(500 bullets):

  • payload
    Internal 8x160kg or 8x100 kg
    External 1x500kg(under right side) or 2x160kg or 2x100kg

  • early version used Isotta-Fraschini Delta RC.35 I-DS serie II with 730hp takeoff, 640hp sealevel and 700hp at 3500m but, later ones get serie III with 770hp takeoff and 750hp at 3500m
