Seems that, because the nation that can’t make its own jets, helicopters, or missiles demands so much control over every project, France is either making its own hull, or making 2A8 hulls itself via the ownership it has in KNDS. I bet we’ll see the same CAPINT(s) next Eurosatory, I only expect a more complete one by 2030. The whole MCGS thing is just McNamara being right all along
The chassis is already known to be licensed to knds France so it’s just setting up production what France currently don’t have. So the first probably couple will be German made chassis.
France itself physically cant make its own chassis not currently at least. They don’t have production or modern experience in modern mbts I mean the last Leclerc made was over 20 years ago it would be very expensive and require a lot of industry to be made.
Idk what kind of poor attack to Germany this was but Germany makes their own helicopters lmao and we still make Eurofighters the only reason the FCAS died was because the french wanted something like 70% control over the program.

France was one of the major problems in both fcas and mgcs.
In Mgcs mostly because of the more urgent requirements. Leclercs being already dead and no further development needed a new platform.
While germany wanted a more extensive better platform and had more time on hand cause of the well functioning and continious development of the leo series.
Knds france and germany still are their own thing.
And do a lot of their stuff seperatly.

Since we are capable of actual good shared programms as long as the french arent part of it and he uses it as saying germany cant develop it themself.

The chassis is actually not settled, Idk if you paid attention to senate meetings with it. Also, Airbus and Eurocopter are primarily French, HQ and employee count and all. If you want to pretend Airbus is truly half German, then Leopard 2A8 is half French anyways, because of the same ownership laws applied.
