Description: The Cant Z1011 was an Italian all-wood medium bomber from the 1930s. The project started in 1935 when the Chief Designer of CANT, Filippo Zappata, started to design a new medium bomber for the Regia Aereonautica that emitted back in 1934 a request for a new medium bomber. The Regia Aereonautica ordered a total of 12 units, which were later reduced to 6 in 1936. During triael, the aircraft showed some problems with the stabilization and the engine that were later resolved by changing both engine and stabilization mass. The Regia Aereonautica later decided not to use those in bombardment operations like the other bombers, but they were used to train the future bomber pilots at the Aviano airbase. They were used at the Aviano air base for all the conflict, and they were probably scrapped after the war. Their fate is not very clear, as there is very little data about them. Talking about the characteristics of the aircraft, it was made only of plywood panels. At the start of the project, the engine selected was the Isotta Fraschini K.14, which was replaced on the six units delivered to the Italian Air Force with the more powerful Isotta Fraschini Asso XI. It was replaced due to the fact that the engine was not powerful enough for this aircraft. It was armed with two turrets with two 7.7 mm Breda Safat machineguns each and a bombload of 1000 kg.
