History:

HMS Glory is the 3rd of the Canopus class battleships. They would be designed to replace the older and larger Majestic class.

HMS Glory would be laid down on the 1st of December 1896 in Birkenhead, launched on the 11th of March 1899 and commissioned on the 1st of November 1900.

From 1901 to 1905 , HMS Glory would be mostly stationed at the China station, serving as the flagship before returning to the UK. She would take part in naval review in 1902 along with other navies ships including SMS Hansa, Pascal, Calabria and Askold.

From August 1907 to April 1909 she would serve in the Mediterranean fleet, said service would be uneventful.

When the first world war broke out, HMS Glory would transfer to the 8th Battle Squadron based at Devonport. As early as the 5th of August, she would be detached to Halifax to serve as a guard ship. She would also assist in protecting Canadian convoys before leaving with her squadron, leaving HMS Princess Royal and HMS Majestic to fill the gap.

She would deploy to meet the German East Asian Squadron in cape horn alongside HMS Essex, HMS Berwick, HMS Lancaster and Condé. In May 1915, HMS Glory would redeploy to partake in the Dardanelles campaign but would see little action, not even firing her guns until early October where she joined HMS Prince George in shelling Ottoman positions.

Later on the 1st of August 1916, HMS Glory would serve as the flagship of the British North Russia Squadron, joining HMS Vindictive and several minesweepers. She would be based at Arkhangelsk to protect arriving supplies. During 1918, HMS Glory and HMS Cochrane would assist in preventing Finnish forces from seizing Pechenga by ferrying guns and troops.

She would later take part in the Russian Civil War after guarding the supplies from the bolsheviks during the revolution. During this period, she was the last pre dreadnought in active British service.

She would later become a depot ship, becoming HMS Cresent and eventually being scrapped on the 19th of December 1922.
