Canadian Ground Forces Tech Tree

Plus, IIRC, iirc were are looking at getting an attack heli.
The rumours of the mixed fighter fleet.
and the jet lead in trainer replacement.
And then there is everything going on with the navy and all its stuff, it is looking at getting or has started.

It’s really hard to suggest something that’s already in game, but I tried my best to use existing game UI and mechanics as the base.

Doesn’t mean it will be easy though, I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes.

Fully agree. That’s the core of the suggestion after all.

I’m also inclined to agree here. Nation folders shouldn’t be an excuse to force all nations into a 10 nation system, there is many great future techtrees that could be added.

But I believe nation folders could benefit those techtrees too. For example Canada might be added alongside Australia and New Zealand in an ANZAC setup, where the three nations could benefit greatly from each having their own techtree space.

Anyway, we’re about to get a few more fun additions over the next few days as CANSEC 2026 kicks off. Very closely watching True North Strategic Review’s feed.

Speaking of which, LAV SPH (formerly, LAV 10x10 Artillery) is now real. Suggestion forthcoming.

.

Based on models, and promotionals from last year at CANSEC 2025.

not to sound offensive, but that artillery version looks like a blatant copy of the rch 155 which is finding great success on markets.

I mean going with what the industry is intrested in is the way to go, but that seems way to similar

It is the RCH 155, this vehicle is just the Piranha IV 10x10 Artillery variant except adapted for the LAV VI instead.

is it? thats on me then, i wasnt sure since it isnt mentioned anywhere. Edit: ( I guess it does say KNDS in the first picture at the lower half, the other stuff sadly isnt readable)
And i am not used to the rch155 turret looking more “sleek”, on the boxer it looks chubby and chunkier.
And on that lav better proportioned and doesnt stand out as much

Yeah, it’s the KNDS RCH 155 on a 10x10 LAV. The hull looks closer to something like the LAV 700 in form than the 6.0

Some collections of more photos of the LAV 10x10 SPH.

You’re not alone, I had no idea what I was looking at when I saw the second photo on Discord. For a moment I thought we were reviving the Denel T7 turret except with a Rheinmetall 155mm instead lol

Where’s the MACK with 25-Pdr? :D

On there. It’s in the premium section.

No wonder I didn’t see it. 4.7 for this thing is crazy. I love the effort people do for these trees but balance considerations aren’t really one of them.

The lack of specs doesn’t help, but I agree, it’s likely too high in BR.

This is my current take on what Canada would/should look like, trying to be mildly BR accurate. Hopefully this comes through clean.

I’ve included vehicles operated by Saudi Arabia, that Canada had built and exported there. These are all Piranhas/LAVs from 1989 onwards. I have also included vehicles Canada built that had been for a US requirement, but had not been accepted (MPWS Piranha, LAV-700 ALAS-MC and LAV-AG (1981)). This adds some fun and unique vehicles that add more depth and value here than they would if in the American TT. There is also the Senator (Gsh-23), a modification of the Canadian Senator aimed towards supplying the Ukrainian Army with C-UAS. Lastly, I have the LAV IIIs we are currently exporting to Colombia armed with Sampson RWSs (Spike, and 30x113mm chain gun).

Additionally, I have specified whether a completely new model, modification of existing model, or re-skin would be required to add each vehicle to the game.

Personally I would add in Australia into the mix. And some of the vehicles would be in different TT’s such as the Lithuanian LAV’s. This is also a good suggestion in it’s own right none the less

preferably they both would have their own individual trees or a CANZ tree, with the lithuanian LAVs in there somewhere; likely as a premium or squadron vehicle knowing gaijin

I don’t think Lithuania ever purchased LAVs.

That said, I tried to keep my tree to a few guiding principles:

  1. Reflect both the paths taken and not taken by the Canadian Army.
This means the regular equipment in service, plus trialed equipment which ended up as a major failed bid. The FV101 Scorpion is important here, as is the LAV III LPT - both are major paths not taken by the Canadian Army

  2. Reflect the Canadian defence industry
This means focus on what was made in Canada and exported. The LAVs are the big piece, but also the Roshel Senator as it finds more purchase. Streit is an uncomfortable inclusion here, but it does add unique variety - I did not include the Varan IFV since I cannot track down its specific manufacturing origin as Streit is now a multinational company.

  3. Don’t be afraid of copy-paste where copy-paste adds value.
I think the Churchill, Churchill GC, and others add a lot of value to the tree. They reflect the actual equipment of the Canadian Army, while adding necessary meat.

The tree is incredibly wheel-heavy. which is a good thing and a bad thing. It ties you to a fast, aggressive, and agile playstyle - but many many players really enjoy that. It’s harder to cap but easier to play the game in a strategic sense, though many will just hold W and drive until someone finds them first.

I think the strongest playstyle is picking a cap, and interdicting it with a fast and mobile vehicle. Ambushing the enemy as they approach or while they’re on the point seemingly unopposed. Reposition, and brace for the next attack. It’s a style that armoured cars like the Puma, SARC, Concept 3, Ratel 90, and AUBL excel at. Presumably this is something a Canadian tree would excel it, which only makes me want it more in game

i dont think you saw, i was replying to someone. i also have no idea if lithuania has LAVs, i was just going by what that guy said

It’s cool, but it’s ugly. Add it asap.
